K-one, thanks for expostulating on the dilemma. You explained it beautifully.
The only thing I can figure out is that it's a purely emotional public poll -- complete with unabashed naivety. No political strategist would push this spin...
More likely the impeachment attempt fails (at best from D point of view, succeeds in the House but conviction fails in the Senate)...public gets the idea that Congress isn’t doing anything useful (as in ‘98)....
With her high-horseness second in line after Cheney, it would look very very suspicious to push for impeachment. After all, I doubt that America would tolerate this _______ (don’t wanna get banned), from a literal sewer of a City, as President.
I, too, favor impeachment. But only because I like peaches.
Well, if that's true, Nancy is going to hit the ceiling when she reads this breaking news (about 2-hours old):
BREAKING: 4 US Reps for Cheney ImpeachmentBy Matthew Cardinale, News Editor, Atlanta Progressive News (May 11, 2007)
(APN) ATLANTA US Rep. Albert Russell Wynn (D-MD) has become the fourth total co-sponsor of US Rep. Dennis Kucinichs (D-OH) bill to impeach Vice President of the United States Dick Cheney, Atlanta Progressive News has learned. In addition to Kucinich, the other two Members of Congress who have signed on to H. Res 333 are US Rep. Janice Schakowsky (D-IL) and William Lacy Clay (D-MO).
History would say this would be a bad move by the Dims - the Republicans lost seats in 1998.
Exactly! Maybe they are too dumb to figure that out. Hard to imagine, though.
I glossed over the sentence about the 621 polled. Still I think another said it best “621 registered New York registered Democratic voters”.
Bush should probably be impeached...for failing to secure our borders after 9/11. That’s not a convenient issue for the Democrats to impeach on, however. Quite frankly, I think the Democrats are quite happy to have a liberal Republican in the White House so they can take all the credit if things go right and none of the blame when they go wrong.
If I were staffing a political think tank -- I'd invite you. Pithy analysis.
“If I were staffing a political think tank — I’d invite you. Pithy analysis.”
Maybe O’Reilly will have me on!
This poll is utter nonsense.
Oh no! I've been busted for watching too much O'Reilly!
LOL! Why not mention that 5.5 out of 10 Americans are vehemently opposed to any impeachment.........
One can also imagine today's MSM headlines:
Ted Williams announces his retirement today after a mediocre career that only saw him getting a hit 3.44 times out of every 10 at bats.........Another non-worthy stat is that in 1957 he only garnered a hit 3.88 times in every 10 at bats. His winning of the batting title that year was due entirely to a lacklustre performance by the rest of the members of Major League Baseball.........
"Baloney" is a LOT more edible than this B.S...
Our InsiderAdvantage/Majority Opinion poll asked this:
"Are you a moonbat?"
"No" Click
"Yes"
"Would you favor or oppose the impeachment by Congress of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney?"
.
