I’m quite interested in seeing who the MSM will put up and push as the 3rd party candidate to get Hillary in office. She can’t win without someone else pulling 10% from whatever RINO the pubbies field.

Thanks for the marvelous Steyn ping, Pokey! Maybe some of his “tough talk” on illegal immigration will be sent to our pubbie presidential candidates so that they can wake up and propose a plan for saving this country. Steyn’s brilliance inspires yet another new tag, below.

My favorite quote is: “If you don’t have borders, you won’t have a nation”. Updating tag with the correct quote, below.

"...will reap the fury of the American people..." You want to see the fury of the American people? Take away their free "social services". Turn off American Idle. Tell the marketing geniuses they can't sell "Whore-Chic" to pre-teen girls. Tell them they are the ones responsible for their family's welfare and they shouldn't expect the omnipotent government to breast feed them from cradle to grave. Then you will see fury!
Don't for a second think that such a mundane concept as "E Pluribus Unum" is going to matter to a majority of the sheeple as long as their bread and circuses continue to flow uninterrupted. Open borders and multiculturalisms inherent dangers to a civil society are concepts far above the cognitive level of government educated sycophants. No fury will manifest itself as long as "I got mine screw you" hedonism and libertinism reigns in this country. Brother, you can take that to the bank.

Thank you, too. I very much like your analysis of the roles played by fools and scoundrels. It appears that, indeed, the whole political game is between two small parts of the society, comprised respectively of altruists and scoundrels. They battle for the hearts of the fools and implement their own visions through the fools they win.
I am more than a little pessimistic. The massive destruction of our system of education since 1950s and its replacement with Leftist indoctrination has created many more fools. How can they defend our Constitution and capitalism --- the cornerstones of our political and economic freedoms --- if they do not know what they are?

I believe that there will be an attack right before Bush leaves office while he is still President so we had better be ready. And if they were to want to make a mockery of the security of this country they would be sure to come across the border. If I were them.I would. I would be sure to show the American people how disgraceful our leaders are about securing the borders of this country and protecting it’s people. They listen to the news and know the border situation and they know there is division among Americans over it.

Of course, you and I both hope you’re wrong. What effect to you think it would have on the public attitudes, the Left/Right culture war, and politics and politicians?

9/11 was never repeated because of President Bush and his attentive leadership"Attentive"? More like "luck." It's Bush's policy not only to keep the border open but to escalate the influx.

No, I don't think so. Luck cannot explain it. America's enemies abroad--as well as her enemies at home: the Left, the so-called "journalists" of the "Mainstream Newsmedia", Leftist academicians, "celebrities", et al.--have been relentless in their attacks on the U.S.A., and America's foreign enemies have never ceased attempting to repeat 9/11. They have not done so because of President Bush.
He must be given his due, and we must be scrupulously truthful.
The economy is booming because of his tax cuts. He has set a stellar standard in his personal conduct--in stark contrast to his predecessor. And 9/11 was not repeated because of his leadership.
His refusal to close the Mexican Border and halt illegal immigration can only be explained by an agenda that he has concealed, and this cost the Republicans the U.S. Congress in the 2006 election.

His refusal to close the Mexican Border and halt illegal immigration can only be explained by an agenda that he has concealed, and this cost the Republicans the U.S. Congress in the 2006 election. It's amazing to me how it can be acknowledged that he has a secret agenda to sellout US sovereignty and at the same time can be afforded, "He has set a stellar standard in his personal conduct."
