(World War II Veteran Savagely beaten and carjacked)
I am home sick today and turned on Fox to see a savage beating of a World War II Vet, age 91 years old by a 22 year old POS in Detroit, MI. I was suprised to do several searches on FR and didn't find an article. Please post any updates to this outrage and be sure to think before you post.
Please post any printed articles you find on the outcome of the case, oh, and Moderators, this is FRONT PAGE news and on every cable channel this morning, so please don't move this to chat.
Is it me, or does it seem that black "youts" are preying on our old people? This is the fourth (4th) violent mugging caught on camera in as many months. Is this something that has always happened and cameras being common are only now catching the crime or some new "fad" among minority "youts"?
Whatever the cause may be, I hope this carjacker gets 21 years in prison (HARD) for attempted murder....1 year for each punch MINIMUM. What I really think should happen to this guy is to recycle him: Return to sender. (Yes, God made a perfect product, but somewhere along the road he lost a major end-item component).
BTW, Youtube has a short clip, and the above video is the only original, full-length ABC affiliate newscast that I could find on short notice. There is no humor about it.
The criminal justice system is heavy on the former and light on the latter. That mutt needs to serve life doing the hardest time possible - mining salt, rowing a galley, breaking rocks ... there used to be a real downside to being an outlaw.
Drop this guy off, along with a copy of the video, on Parris Island. He’d make a great tool for hand-to-hand combat practice.
How about not saying “our” old people? There are freepers who are black, and there have been plenty of stories about young thugs preying on old black people too.
I’m not saying there aren’t black thugs who target white people - but let’s not play us versus them where we shouldn’t.

Also, did you notice the four perps in the top of the video standing there and doing nothing? We have become a nation of sheep....er...maybe only liberal enclaves such as Detroit have, Chicago, and NYC, where the latest elderly beatings have taken place.
Actually, the Soviets used to do this with criminals. Their Special Forces would train with criminals b/c if the criminals died or broke an arm during the fight, no problem. Probably a good idea in this case for this guy to be thrown in the ring with some Marines who wants some hands-on combat training.

Our old people = Americans, and if you didn't notice, this victim is black, the previous victim was Latino, so please don't read so much into it (before your overzealousness to insinuate me as a racist) get ahead of your lack of thinking before you post.
Any thug whatever color that molests a child or assaults the elderly (again, regardless of race) deserve to die.

Huh?! The WWII vet was black. We (or at least I) consider him "our" people because he is an American and a vet, regardless of race. Now, I am white. Am I not allowed to consider an elderly American WWII vet -- who happens to be black -- to be "my" people? (Regardless of what anyone else says, I will.)

Seems to me that there are a lot of youths of various kinds preying upon a lot of people. In the past few weeks around here, we’ve had the following: A high school student, a good kid with no connection to gangs, disappered after dropping his girlfriend off at the store where she worked; his body was found in the Cal-Sag Channel, covered with bruises. A middle school kid was severely beaten at an ice rink in one of the suburbs, and not a bad one either. In my neighborhood, not known to be a particularly crime-ridden area, a 19-year-old was shot to death while he sat in his car; the four people involved in the shooting were between 15 and 19 years old. And just the other day an 18-year-old boarded a CTA bus and opened fire on a group of high school students, killing one.
I suspect some of these were gang or drug-related. Otherwise, the crimes were done by people who can be considered nothing but savages. That’s how they were brought up, and that’s what they are and, as far as I can tell, no one is immune from being their victims. The shooting in my neighborhood was in the quiet business district that all the locals patronize; a place where people take their kids; a place where my father-in-law goes to buy a jug of wine. It kind of makes me think twice about going there.

When I did see it, I thought, what a decent, tough old man he is. Definitely one of ours! I pray he recovers quickly from this attack and it does him no long term harm.

I took what he said as being a collective “our old people”, meaning black, white , blue and polka-dotted.
I don’t think there was any “us vs them” to it.
If he had meant to say “our old white people” he probably would have said just that.
To hell with PC, Black Males beating up old folks for pennies is disgusting and repulsive! Hope they get the max.
He should be accompanied by the FIVE witnesses who did absolutely NOTHING, their signs should read “We are cowardly dimwits who enjoy watching helpless old men get beaten and are too afraid to do anything about it”
And the “witnesses” did absolutely nothing to help.
The witnesses need to go to jail too.
I agree, but unfortunately, in today's litigious society, people are either untrained, illprepared, or plain lazy.

There are a lot of people out there that see no difference between killing you and stepping on a cockroach.

When I read the post, I didn’t read “our” as in black vs. white, I interpreted it as “our” meaning “society’s” old people...black, white, and all other colors and races.
There were 5 or 6 other youths with this disGUSTING POS and they all stood there watching this happen to this poor man. 22 punches to the head and face and thank GOD that this man is still alive.
They were with the SOB.

The witnesses should be censured but they don’t deserve to go to jail unless there is a law written somewhere requiring people to come to the aid of strangers. So far as I know, the only time rescue is a civil duty is when the “witness”’s actions put the victim in peril in the first place. I would, however, like the names and faces of these “witnesses” published for public condemnation.
This sort of urban atrocity has gone on for a very long time; it’s the proliferation of video cams that is exposing perhaps a tiny fraction of it. Urban Blacks who comprise appox. 15% of our North American population are, for a variety of primarily cultural and historic reasons, responsible for perhaps 90% of all violent urban crime. Moreover, the cultural divide between sociopathic urban Black predators like this prick and the rest of society is underscored by precisely this kind of ghastly acting out. Such occurrences are responsible for much of the “White flight” that created inner city Hells on Earth and they may be the perpetual price we pay as a society for creating a permanent and ever growing Black underclass. Our approaches to racial, cultural and religious rifts are hopelessly naive and superficial (eg the Paula Zahn segments on CNN) and this sort of thing will no doubt go on and on - further feeding racial and religious hatreds. As with global warming, we may have already passed the point of no return on our down-hill cultural (and religious) slide into the abyss.
