FReeper REPORT: Kansas Governor asked if she will release phone records regarding Dean controversy
governor's office ^ | 5-14-07 | dfu

Posted on 05/14/2007 11:06:18 AM PDT by doug from upland

While writing this, I received a return phone call from the communications director for Gov. Kathleen Sebelius. She got back to me within five minutes of leaving the message.

Nicole Corcoran said that she was taken aback by my question. I had left the message that I am working on a freelance piece about the Sebelius/Dean/FreeRepublic/Quinn&Rose controversy. I wondered if her office would be willing to release the phone records for the time of the purported phone conversation with Dean.

Her initial comment was, "No one ever thought of that." As I pressed to see if she could get that done, she hesitated and flirted around the issue. The bottom line is that I suspect no phone records will be released. She commented that even if they were released, there would be people who wouldn't believe it and believe there was a secret backbone somewhere that wouldn't be revealed.

So, FReepers, there was the solution to solve it. If no call was made, it would seem that the Governor and Yeeeeeehaaaaaaa Howard Dean would be anxious to clear the record and press for FR and Quinn&Rose to acquiesce.

Will any of you be surprised if they refuse to release to phone records? Maybe they need time to sanitize them first.

Shameless! You devil you!

Looks like there should be a series of FOIA requests with legal cover that should be going out.

Better yet, can we just buy the records from some unscrupulous cell company?

"The accusation that I received a call from anyone, encouraging me to take on this issue following the devastating tornado in Greensburg, is one-hundred-percent false..."

This makes me think it might have been communicated to her by email.

Or maybe she initiated the call to Dean, looking to find a way to exploit the situation for political gain.

Good job Doug! Although, it would seem to be a House investigation with the governor and Dean under oath seems to be in order. That IS the way dems sort this kind of thing ooout—isn’t it?

I doubt you're going to get anything from Sebelius or the DNC, but the original story says that she called Brownback's office and spilled the beans to someone there. Has anyone gotten any sort of confirmation from the Senator or his staff that she called and what she said? If she did wouldn't there be phone records of that and might not the Senator be more forthcoming than the governor or Dean? Maybe an FOI request in that direction might be in order?

"Her initial comment was, "No one ever thought of that."

They never thought of it because they figured the media would just accept their version of events and not demand proof.

Howie called Kathleen on the morning after the tornado and told her what to say and how to blame Bush and the war in Iraq

Schwarznagger did the exact same thing the other day. He said "Our National Guard sends all their equipment to Iraq and it doesn't come back", implying that's the cause of the LA fires taking some time to put out.

Doug, democrat leadership at all levels now, haven’t a clue what is truth or how to maintain it. They lie as a means to express themselves since whatever empowers their agenda is the only issue for them. Lies and bloody sacrifices are the empowerment scheme of the democrap party. If we think it’s bad now, think of how bad it will become if the Rodham-rodent reaches the White HOuse of power!

THIS SONG ALMOST WROTE ITSELF

MIDI SITE -— YOU WON’T SEE ME: http://debmyers.com/midi/beatles/rubber/rubbersoul.htm

Quinn and Rose had said you called up the gov
For the GOP, you weren’t spreading love
When the tornado had hit...did you take advantage of it
You chomped at the bit...release the records...your phone records

If you really have nothing to hide...why don’t you just let people decide
When the tornado had hit...did you take advantage of it
You chomped at the bit...release the records...your phone records

Time after time I’d like to electro-shock you
I cannot do that, so I guess in song I’ll mock you

Howard Dean, are you, nuts as you seem
Let us hear again that great insane scream
When the tornado had hit...did you take advantage of it
You chomped at the bit...release the records...your phone records

Time after time I’d like to electro-shock you
I cannot do that, so I guess in song I’ll mock you

If you really have nothing to hide...why don’t you just let people decide
When the tornado had hit...did you take advantage of it
You chomped at the bit...release the records...your phone records

Hillary back in the WH is the scariest scenario imaginable. That is why I chose my tagline as I did.

She would literally do anything. ANYTHING. Who would stop her? Who would impeach her?

Quinn and Rose were on this again today, and said that the lawyer letter is clear evidence that they hit a nerve, and that their source is 100% certain this call occurred. They have further noted that Brownback got involved (on the governor’s side) and that he is giving it new “legs” as well.

Quinn on his show today IMPLIED that it was someone in the governor’s office! He said they checked with the source a couple of times again, and re-confirmed that the calls took place!

Doug, you should post that # so that all of us can call and demand those records be released, since YOU have now made a formal request for the records.
