Impeach Traitors in CongressViolaters of Oath of Office
United States Senate ^ | 05/18/07 | Charlied

Posted on 05/18/2007 4:45:09 PM PDT by jyro

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God

Impeach all that vote for the current Immigration bill.

I was paying attention to the elections and the numbers that killed the Republican majority in the Senate, stone cold sober...you must be the one who does the drinking instead.

The problem will continue as long as you continue to believe the LIBERAL lamestream media that a true conservative can’t win and then believe the RLC that you must vote for the “lesser of two evils”. They are both playing the people for fools and having a good time doing it! The Repubs inaction when they had House, Senate and Presidency shows they aren’t serious.

“If we let the terrorist win nothing else will matter. “

If we let the terrorists into the country through Amnesty, then winning the WOT will be the farthest thing from your mind when you are fighting them off on OUR streets.

There is no ‘choice’ between the two. They are one and the same.

If I must choose between the two the WOT is more important to me. If we let the terrorist win nothing else will matter.

fair enough. My opinion is that WOT does not matter if you don't have a country anymore. Besides, next president (Fred/Mitt) can kill terrorists and finish the war. With Amnesty, we are permanently turning into 3rd world Mexico/Brasil. Do you think Bush would choose Amnesty over Iraq funds+impeachment?

If so, we are doomed. I'm confident that Bush would choose to veto the amnesty and win the WOT.

I think this strategy is the way to stop amnesty, if everything else fails.

"If president Bush does not veto amnesty bill, we promise to support impeachment and cutting Iraq war funds".

I posted in another thread a potential quandary:

If the Dems would attach the Iraqi War troop withdrawal to the amnesty bill, that would put George in a difficult position.

Would he sign the document, withdrawing the troops, to preserve amnesty for illegals as his legacy, or would he opt to continue the war?

That would be a double-popcorn pay-per-view event.

I don't agree.  I was asked a direct question and answered it honestly.  My opinion on which is more important remains the same.  When I go to the polls in 2008 the WOT will be the most important factor.  If I can help elect someone who will be strong on both issues I'll be a happy camper.

That scenario would be great but unfortunately, dem leadership is pretty smart. They know that amnesty+Iraq troop withdrawal would be a political disaster for them. They want to have republican traitors with them so they can say it is bi-partisan bill (illegals vote 90% for dems in anycase).

Troop withdrawal is also something they do not want to do as it would be political suicide for them.
Too bad republican leadership is out of touch.

It is better if republicans take charge and force El Presidente to choose between amnesty and Iraq+impeachment.

As far as I’m concerned, this is a DIRECT result of those conservatives who stayed home

Don't be ridiculous. This is the same bunch of Senators as the ones who passed an almost identical bill last session.

It has little to do with the election. Last session, it was Specter and Kennedy and McCain and Graham. The only difference was that the Republicans had majority control then.

Republicans had control last session, and they passed Amnesty for illegals out of the Senate.

Democrats have control this session, and they pass almost the same Amnesty for illegals out of the Senate.

Buy a clue. Most of them, Democrats or Republicans, are basically the same. And if this bill gets to the Republican president, he will sign it, and he will have the biggest grin on his face since the time Gore conceded the 2000 election.

House reps can force Bush to veto amnesty bill. It’s not pretty but it will work.

“So, how do you explain the REPUBLICAN senate pushing this same ugly mess through before they lost last year?”

Thank you AuntB.
I’m tired of the same old BS about how we HAVE to vote for “Republicans” or else.....

That’s why we have such a scurvy crew in there now.

No one has shown them the door.

Right.

Election 2006 was a hard pill to swallow, but it sent a message. The GOP didn’t get the message.

Election 2008 is shaping up to be an even bigger hard pill.

The GOP could see minority status for another 40 years.

It is a bitter pill, but necessary. Otherwise, we get more more of the same.

I have heard there are 70 Senate votes to approve this proposal. Does anyone have a headcount? If it is 70 we better get to work trying to tweak it.

Nope, I leave the spiked koolaid to those of you who think not voting is equal to voting against your chosen candidate.

That presumption is a good illustration of the fallacy of the false dilemma, but then logical fallacies wouldn’t exist if there weren’t people who fall for them. Cheers.

There is something pathological about the Bushs’ obsession with amnesty. No self-respecting conservative and true American could possibly think this is a valid idea (well, except for some like Michael Medved - a great mind but totally out of touch on this - Bush sycophant). The arguably greatest self-respecting conservative - Ronald Reagan - allowed himself to be somehow suckered into the original amnesty. The current numbers for which we have rightful concern are testiment to the fallacy of “bringing them out of the shadows”. It simply defies explanation. The Democrats can easily be understood. They generally hate America and want nothing other than to see the country as we know it die; giving them an opening for a final takeover; or, is that, final solution. The RINO’s share the same disease as the likes of Medved. Nothing explains Bush’s unwaivering and unrelenting effort to turn every illegal into an “american”. White or rich guilt? The family routinely used illegals to work their ranch and clean their mansions and now, out of guilt, want to “pay them back”? While at the same time alienating the entire conservative base. This is a rant and ramble but it simply defies explanation.
