The crowd booed South Carolina U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, a key ally of McCain in both his 2000 and 2008 presidential bids, when he said he had worked with U.S. Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., on the immigration legislation.
"It's the best bill I think we can get to President Bush," Graham said as some in the crowd shouted "No!"
Graham was cheered earlier in his speech when he talked about the war in Iraq. After the speech, Graham said he was booed on immigration because "it's an emotional topic. People are mad."
South Carolina's other U.S. senator, Jim DeMint, is on opposite sides from Graham: He supports Romney and said he opposes an immigration bill that allows permanent residency of illegal aliens.

Good. May the booing echo in his ears for a long time after he’s out of office after trying to sell out Americans.
Good. They need to feel the heat and know it is for real.
Reminds me of that idiot from New York Mikey Bloomersberg.
Best Bill we can hope to get rhetoric just does not cut it in my book.
Why sack America with more bad law that does not work.
Stand by, the FReepers who’ve been claiming The Grinnin’ Idjit graham is more conservative than Fred Thompson are about to descend on this thread.
Sure “people” are mad. To use Judge Judy’s favorite phrase, someone’s been peeing on our legs and calling it rain. Even on some “conservative” sites, I’m being told that this is “not” amnesty. Sure it’s not. And when the ‘Rats let the Bush tax breaks expire, that’s “not” raising taxes, either.
Sold out by our own, that’s the sorry state of things right now.
Sheesh, who says that? Graham has been sliding more to the left all the time. Right now, he’s barely more conservative than Geraldo, and not by much if so.
Well normally I’d say they should have thrown fruit and vegetables but they’re too expensive now !!!

Primary gomer pyle graham.
Excellent, he deserved to be booed. Huge atta boys to those who booed.
Senator: The war's over. Our side won the war. Now we must busy ourselves winning the peace. And Fletcher, there's an old saying: To the victors belong the spoils.
Fletcher: There's another old saying, Senator: Don't p*SS down my back and tell me it's raining.
kinda fits dont it.
Thinking about the fruit and vegetables, they’re probably from Mexico anyhow and therefore unfit for human consumption,so next speech by Graham go ahead and throw em !!!
A friend emailed that photo to me yesterday...it’s making the rounds. It’s one of those times in which a picture really is worth a thousand words. Graham’s right about the fact that people are mad...he just doesn’t have a clue as to why.
I think I remember saying that Lindsay Graham had done something good the other day. I guess it was a fluke, probably the good thing he did since the impeachment of clinton, and I can’t remember exactly what it was.
Pushing the amnesty bill is more typical of his idiot behavior over the past 8 years or so.
Graham and McCain- the Brokebutt Boys.
I don't know why US Senators would become so victimized by the beltway and media and lose sight of average Americans. It's easy to say this happens, but astounding that it does.
Thing that gets me is they believe there is this urgent need for "a solution" without recognizing they need to control the border first. Just incredible.
Expressions of anger and even rage can be appropriate. For example the mayor of Los Angeles recently addressed a local mob of illegal aliens in Spanish(Protest against the LAPD appropriately thumping some illegals.)He babbled about their “Derechos.” I do not recognize this wretch as legitimate. He is the leader of an invading force elected by them to occupy an American city.
Well, then, Mr. Graham, don't you think you should listen to the people? Sorry ass McCain backer!
He deserves to be booed and spit on and defeated.
Gomer Pyle Graham and another generation of stupid Senators are hoodwinked by Senator Chappaquiddick, the man who gave us the 1965 immigration act.
The “powers that be” or the elite just dont get it.
Kay Bailey Hutcheson in Tx doesn’t get it either!!!
I could not get through Fri Aft all the lines were busy !!!
As for the photo, Reagan joked with Tip O’Neil all the time but he NEVER sold out his principles in any deal with O’Neal.
YUP, SOLD OUT!
I thought these asses were supposed to do what we want? Our “representatives” no longer represent us.
Sen. Graham is wrong. The best bill they could get to the President is one that fines anyone who hires illegal aliens $50,000 per head and jails them for a mandatory five years.
How long has it been that we taxpayers/citizens were able to have a chuckle like this over something that Congress has done? Further, I simply can’t believe that is not a stand in for Kennedy. He hasn’t looked that good in 30 years.
Surprised they weren’t heating a barrel of tar and getting some feathers togeather.
Each and every Congressmen who voted for this bill should be voted out of office.
Its an offense to each and every American and naturalized citizen.
And if Bush signs it, NO ONE from his family should EVER be elected to higher office.
Send the White House an e-mail expressing your outrage at:
When California passed Proposition 187 to reduce the public benefits provided to illegal aliens, a federal judge named Mariana Pfaelzer blocked enforcement of the law, claiming that it was in conflict with the will of Congress. Governor Pete Wilson attempted to have the U.S. Senate resolve that no such conflict existed.
Kay Bailey Hutcheson led the fight for the illegal aliens and against the citizens of California, urging her Senate "colleagues" to oppose any action which might result in the enforcement of Proposition 187.
Graham is toast as he should be
Lindsey, you don't know the meaning of "mad." But you will.
The White House Web Site posted a document on Friday 5/18 called “Myth/Fact: Ten Key Myths About the Border Security and Immigration Reform Agreement” (http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/05/20070518-4.html).
“Myth #1” is “this is amnesty.”
It’s the age-old sales technique of addressing objections in order to close the sale. I’m wondering how many people who email the White House with objections to this bill will receive a response with a link to this document...
There's no "may be" about it. It's now a done deal. Can you smell that coffee? I sure can and it's stinking up the place bad.
I sent him a scathing message opposing this and elaborating onm my Republican background.
No response to date.
A couple of FReepers who seem to think Tom Tancredo can win the presidency.
Even that's not good enough.
It's time to really play hardball -- like congess and king george are playing with us.
The "major" parties believe they can pull this off because they also believe 1) that Americans have nowhere to go but to them, and 2) that we are unwilling to give up comfort and convenience in our lives or to court real risk.
The way to make them blink first is to prove beyond doubt that they are wrong on both counts.
It won't surprise me one bit if king george declares a national emergency and imposes martial law in the coming months.
If you are low on ammo, the time to buy it is now.
Pronunciation: (am'nu-stē)1. a general pardon for offenses, esp. political offenses, against a government, often granted before any trial or conviction.
2. Law.an act of forgiveness for past offenses, esp. to a class of persons as a whole.
3. a forgetting or overlooking of any past offense.
As should all senators and reps who did not hotly contest this and all other similar bills proposed in either or both houses.
>>>...Graham said he was booed on immigration because “it’s an emotional topic. People are mad.”
He’s misunderestimating that just a tad...
Immigration Equals Multiculturalism Equals Suicide Karl Marx defined the essence of Socialism as abolishing private property. Lets assume for a moment that a country can be treated as the "property" of its citizens. Its inhabitants are responsible for creating its infrastructure. They have built its roads and communications, its schools, universities and medical facilities. They have created its political institutions and instilled in its people the mental capacities needed for upholding them. Is it then wrong for the citizens of this country to want to enjoy the benefits of what they have themselves created? According to Marxist logic, yes. .....We should remember that this view of culture as largely unimportant is essentially a Marxist view of the world, which has now even been adopted by segments of the political Right, united with Leftists in the belief that man is homo economicus, the economic man, the sum of his functions as worker and consumer, nothing more.
Marxism doesnt say that cultures or ideas are of absolutely no consequence, but that they are of minor or secondary importance next to structural and economic conditions. I have heard individuals state point blank that even if Muslims become the majority in our countries in the future, this doesnt matter because all people are equal and all cultures are just a mix of everything else, anyway. And since religions are just fairy-tales, replacing one fairy-tale, Christianity, with another fairy-tale, Islam, wont make a big difference. All religions basically say that the same things in different ways. However, not one of them would ever dream of saying that all political ideologies basically mean the same thing. They simply dont view religious or cultural ideas as significant, and thus wont spend time on studying the largely unimportant details of each specific creed. This is Marxist materialism.
The unstated premise behind this is that the age of distinct cultures is over. All peoples around the world will gradually blend into one another. Ethnic, religious and racial tensions will disappear, because mankind will be one and equal. Its cultural and genetic Communism.
Nation states who create their own laws and uphold their own borders constitute discrimination and an obstacle to this new Utopia, and will gradually have to be dismantled, starting with Western nations of course, replaced by a world where everybody has the right to move wherever they want to and where international legislation and human rights resolutions define the law, upheld by an elite of supposedly well-meaning transnational bureaucrats managing our lives.
Another definition for amnesty - when the original penalty is not enforced.
Why would Sen. Lindsey Graham push for this bill since it would only cost him votes and it is obviously bad for the USA?
All the illegals-enabling spin-doctors on TV keep saying this isn’t “amnesty”. It IS amnesty, it won’t be enforced, and it will do nothing more than invite even more illegals in the country. Pat Buchanan (I can’t believe it but I agree totally with him on McLaughlin today, LOL) said it would do nothing more than inspire more illegals to hop the fence and it was a total sellout of working Americans. Pat said it sold out low-income Americans and I agree.
Either he’s insane or his pockets are being lined or going to be lined by some employer(s) actively hiring illegals. When nothing else makes sense, look for money.
You know, I used to actually respect this assclown.
The dipwad doesn't even know that "immigration" has nothing whatsoever to do with why he was booed, and it's NOT an emotional topic.
Shameless sucking up to lawbreakers and their liberal allies IS.
The man does not deserve to be a US Senator.
Well, it isn't amnesty. It's just putting America on sale at bargain prices. Back in the day, you had to jump thru many hoops and wait a decade or more to come to the US. Now you just have to claim to have been here for 5 months (get a friend to print you up a phony paystub or two on his laser printer to prove it) and pay a little money and you're in. The only losers in the whole business are the dolts who still bother to follow the rules, and who wants those people anyway? Damned law-abiding nitwits.
Yep.
“If you are low on ammo, the time to buy it is now.”
You got that right. Ammo is going up in price all over. I have stocked up a lot but have a hard time with all the practice I’ve been doing.
Been looking at practice rounds from Cabelas but for the good stuff this article is a must have reference for defense rounds.

“I sent him a message...opposing this. No response to date.”
You ungrateful, ignorant peasant, you. ;^)
Don’t you realize that Lord Graham Flimsey Tinkerbelle does not deign to reply to those who disagree, or whose missive fails to state, “check enclosed”?
No luck here, either. But I can’t wait ‘til his reelection mailings go out. From me there WILL be a reply.
