NEW YORK -- Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani made his 28th appearance on the "Late Show" with David Letterman on Monday, answering hypotheticals about the Iraq war in a friendly exchange with the puckish comedian.
Letterman asked the former New York mayor about the war and its chaotic aftermath.
"I think there would have been a better strategy," Giuliani said. "We kind of didn't plan for that the way we should have."
In response to another question, Giuliani touched upon President Bush's legacy, something that has been hotly debated, with former President Jimmy Carter calling Bush's foreign policy "the worst in history" over the weekend.
"The determination of the kind of president George Bush is will be made by history, and then there'll be big decisions that he made that people are going to look at," Giuliani said. "Harry Truman was, you know, had significant difficulties as great or more than George Bush's but then, in retrospect, when you look back on it, he made the big decisions of his presidency so well that he's become one of our good to great presidents."

a RINO chatting with a leftist about an globalist’s policies.
Rudy’s done like a dinner.
Rudy will not find the Republican primary votes he needs fielding softballs from a lightweight like Letterman.
I blame Letterman too.
Rudy will hang it on some obscure subordinate : )
VOTE "None of the Above"
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
Agreed, Rudy is toast...but then, so is the Republican Party. We need a new vehicle.
What? No Top Ten “Giuliani is a RINO” list?
Rudy is a soggy biscuit, enamored by his own slanted smile and the sound of his own voice.
I’m trying to find someone in “republican” party that does not share the same traits.
We do need a “new” vehicle, or we’ll be riding Hitlary as the CINC.
F-R-E-D!!
(say it with me)
F-R-E-D!!!
I miss Richard Pryor. :-(
Me as well.
Geez, when I first read the title I thought ol’ Rudy went from blaming Bush to blaming David.
Actually, he sounds totally pulled out of context. He said some Iraq war planning could have been done better, and he said George Bush decisions will be judged by history.
Newsday is leftist, loves to make Republicans look bad. And being a Long Island Newspaper, views Rudy as a threat to Democrats. I’m sure it has an agenda to wreck Rudy as much as possible.
I wasn’t aware that Rudy Giuliani had attended a military academy and had become a military strategist. /sarcasm
Did I say “riding” Hitlary?
That could get me banned.
Shudder.
We’ve lost so many of our ‘70s/’80s comedic film giants. Pryor, Candy, Belushi, Ted Knight, Dangerfield...
The title "Giuliani faults war planning on Letterman" - lol, yeah Rudy, it's all David Letterman's fault.
I don't think a title like that was accidental. Looks like there is one Associated Press editor who doesn't like Rudy.
And on the rest - Rudy is nothing but a big sellout.
