I think the threat of al-qaida acquiring fissile material from Russia is over blown. The Russian mafia, who would have access to the material, would be wiped out by the Russian government if a nuclear terror attack was ever perpetrated with that material.
But other than that, good article;
Not to mention mention of the democrats openly sidieng with the enemy.
Eight years of doing nothing is going to take a long time to fix.
The excruciating and infuriating thing is that a lot of people in this country think those eight years are January 20, 2001 to January 20, 2009.
Not 8 years — 16 years!
It needs to happen in order for us to rid this country of our enemies...AQ and the Left.
This is the most important statement in the article. Why our government is not hell-bent on eliminating oil usage with a "Man on the moon" stated policy and program is beyond me. End the oil, end the islamic threat.
Take the moon landing -- The entire space race costs the US hundreds of billions of dollars (in 1960s dollars) and resulted in a nice piece of propaganda to use against the Soviets. And the argument that technological bleed-over from NASA to private industry was worth it are unfounded. If the US government didn't claim a monopoly on space travel, perhaps private industry would have been more active, and we would be even better off now.
The moon wasn't kicking dollars into election campaigns.
i tuned out early in the article when the guy claimed that bin laden cleverly foresaw and planned being driven out of afghanistan. thats bs. bin laden thought he was invulnerable in afghanistan bacause he had beaten the soviets who were right next door.
the idea that a couple hundred us special forces guys would collapse the taliban was unthinkable.
bin laden sufferedd “unintended consequences” big time with 9/11 and to think otherwise is foolish. we are winning against al qaeda.
OK; both parties are liberal. Duncan Hunter is one of the “few others”.
Sooner or later, our country will have to make a choice between employing devastating force with little or no regard for civilian casualties, and giving up on a major swath of Europe and Asia WRT radical islamic dominance. The consequence will be an isolated United States going against a Eurasian caliphate. The stakes will no longer be “stability” or “democracy for all”, but our survival.
Didn't we get Tang out of the deal?
mmm... Sweet sweet Tang. Definitely worth a few hundred billion...
People disregard what he has done in energizing many countries to fight AQ, including historical allies and new allies, but rather look at the daily bombings against innocents in Iraq.
He has also isolated Syria and Iran, with the objective being that if they willingly assist terrorists with WMD they will be hit the same as if they had done it.
I think Bush has done a tremendous job, given the nature of the threat.
TEND my ass. They have already forgotten. 9-1-1 is as far away as the War Between the States to 99% of Americans. All Americans want to know is who won Dancing With the Stars? Who was on Oprah today? What time does the big game come on? Are we going to the bar tonight? Did you get those four porn videos today? Give me the supersized pizza with extra fat on it? Naw, Americans could give a rat's ass about 9-1-1. It is over. Done with to them. Shames me to be an American these days. With a president who is breaking his oath of office by legalizing illegals, to Marxist's running the country. America is truly doomed.
I’m with you beebuster. There is no way that bin Laden anticipated being routed along with the Taliban in such summary fashion. He did not think the “paper tiger” would respond so vigorously. Further, while one may bash the president on many fronts, he was the right man at the right time come September 11.
Dog, ping for your information...
