Thank you for the recommendation. I’ll certainly give that a try. The “Superior” looks right up my alley at 42 x 6 1/2.

Dominican Macanudo Robustos are arguably as good as
anything Cuban & retail Stateside for 30-40 cents CDN$!
(personal taste but, I'd take one these bad boys over a same
sized Cuban MonteCristo at even money all day long!)

Unless you happen to have 'black market' airline / travel biz connections,
with our taxes, there are NO good 'deals' on Cuban stogies in Canada.
Yanks seeking the 'forbidden fruit' in Kanuckistan are SUCKERS!

Just to be clear: "30-40 cents CDN$!" above means in CDN$ versus retail prices for the same product in Canada.
btw, the Canadian federal tax on foreign cigars at wholesale is 400% !!!

Wrong. First of all, the Department of Justice is separate from the Treasury Department within the Executive Branch. Its Antitrust division has jurisdiction against alien corporations ONLY when they do business with Americans in the US, while maintaining jurisdiction over US corporations regardless of the location or nationality of their customers (this is basic International Law).

No branch of the US Government has jurisdiction over non-US corporations acting abroad, or over American citizens acting under color of law in other countries. If I, an American citizen, am arrested for buying cocaine in Barcelona, I'm going to be tried under Spanish law, not American law. If I attempt to bring the cocaine back to the US and I'm busted at the airport, American Federal law will certainly apply as jurisdiction is established by my presence (and US airports are governed by Federal, not state law).

If I buy a Cuban cigar in Spain and smoke it, my actions are legal under Spanish law. If I buy a Cuban cigar and attempt to smuggle it back to the US, the Feds can nail me for it.

Reciprocity applies. If a Spanish citizen traveling to the US brings in a Cuban cigar, he can be prosecuted under US law (but probably wouldn't be). If the same Spaniard bought goods in the US that were under quarantine in Spain and attempted to fly them back to Barcelona, he would be prosecuted by Spanish authorities, but the company that sold him the goods would not be liable, unless US law also forbade the transaction.

In Florida, I ran across a place that was selling Cuban seed cigars, apparently it was made from tobacco grow from imported Cuban tobacco seeds, I guess not illegal in the US.

Which bar(s) are you licensed to practice at. Otherwise I am going to treat your legal advice as worth what I paid for it. Which is nothing.

The point of my link, which you seem to have missed entirely (deliberately?) is that the actions of American citizens abroad are subject to jurisdiction of US courts. Period.

It’s not “period”. My point was that the actions of US citizens abroad are subject to the jurisdiction of US federal government agencies, but under proscribed circumstances. I don’t currently practice law but that’s my educational background. And I maintain that the US government cannot lawfully prosecute a US citizen for smoking a Cuban cigar in Canada.

Anything in the Arturo Fuente Opus X line is excellent. I THINK they are Honduran, but I could be wrong.

I dont smoke em that often, but when I do, I like the churchill size ones.

I also like Punch Punch brand, but I dunno where down there they are made.

So in other words, you are not a lawyer and you are giving legal advice? Right.

Thank you for your service, and enjoy your smokes. That said, don’t get busted by Treasury.

It is legal to possess them and smoke them in the US

My dumbass niece bought a small box of cigars in Cuba a number of years ago and got busted coming back into Detroit thru customs in Windsor. One silly box! They don't mess around.

To this day she is a marked woman (convicted smuggler) and wherever she flies they automatically thoroughly search her and her luggage..........

A Cuban cigar, while good, isn’t any better than a good Honduran cigar..

I smoked a Greycliff Vintage 1999...yesterday. And that was a NICE 'gar.

Can't imagine a Cuban being better....

Vegas 5, CEO, Cu 'Avana, all make some nice cigars

If you haven't already or ever get the chance, try a Royal Barbados.
The story I've heard is that the manufacturer has spent the past 25 years or so attempting to replicate Cuban Cohibas and, to me, has pretty much succeeded.

Overall though, I'd agree with your pro Dominican point-of-view.

True, but they have kept Castro from being much of a military threat to us.
