If Fred Thompson ends up not performing up to the standards that most conservatives are presently hoping for in a Presidential candidate, then 2008 will probably become a very disappointing year once again for conservatives at every political level. I’m seriously hoping that Fred Thompson does very well during his entire run for the Presidency, and I hope that if Fred is the final GOP pick for President that he also picks someone decent to be his Vice Presidential running mate. Fred Thompson will also seriously need to create some very successful political coattails in order for all of the other conservatives running for political offices to also get a boost to their campaigns from Fred Thompson. Another factor is what ends up happening with this ongoing “More Amnesty for Illegal Immigrants” legislation: if it’s killed in Congress, then conservatives won’t have to worry about all of the aftereffects of such legislation becoming “law” very soon, but if President Bush ends up signing this “profoundly crappy” legislation into law, then all bets are off as to what will happen politically next year. The GOP, conservatism, and the entire U.S. as a country will be in deep trouble for the long-term if this legislation does become “law” very soon. All interest in the entire GOP will profoundly wane if this legislation does become “law” very soon, and even Fred Thompson will probably end up losing support if that crap becomes a reality. All of the damage from such legislation will only continue no matter who becomes the next President!
I hear you John... I hope to God we can stop this Amnesty Bill, or as you said — the results will be disastrous for our whole country. I also see the dangers if Bush signs this bill. I hope Bush, and our Congresspeople wake up and realize that this is a historical moment, and our country is theirs to protect or destroy — not just the GOP, but the whole nation.
Maybe he can get a job as a hairdresser when its all over, he can save $400
Cool, I’ll have to read it. I’ll be heading over there in a bit. (o: Thanks!
We’ve got out the cluebat and we’re bustin’ heads for Fred!
Was that too harsh...I think it was too harsh....meh....THWACK!!!
What surprises me is that Obama is ahead over Hillary. I though Obama was losing steam big time.
Interesting that at this point, SC prefers Puff the Magic Negro who doesn’t know the population of an average Kansas town to The Marxist Queen.
Go Fred! Thanks for the ping.
Gonzo politics.
SC is 35% black and 45% democratic. With very few exceptions, the first group is a subset of the second. The sample of likely democrat primary voters is 75% black.
Absolutely! Assuming Hunter will take the VP slot.
Fredneck certainly fits my neck of the woods better.
What’s up with Newt’s drinking of the global-warming-is-caused-by-human-activity Kool Aid, anyway?
“In his first portion of allotted time Gingrich said there were two undisputed areas of scientific consensus on global warming: that the earth is getting hotter and the warming had been caused by human activity.”
“At one point, Kerry asked Gingrich what he would say to conservatives like Sen. James Inhofe (R.-Okla.) who do not believe global warming is caused by human activity. Gingrich said, ‘The evidence is sufficient that we should move to the most effective possible steps to reduce carbon.’”

Reduce carbon can mean making carbon energy usage more efficient.. i.e. more MPG like that.. Whats wrong with that.. Saying mankind has NO EFFECT on CO2 is stupid.. Its true that water vapor is 97% more green house gas than CO2 but CO2 is still present..
Newt by taking one step backwards as I said here.. allows him to take 3 steps forward with the Moonbats.. Admit it.. American voters are mostly Moonbats.. American women are pretty much mostly democrats.. or did I say that with the moonbat crack..
I like Fred a lot. I just hope he gives up on his buddy John’s cockamamey speech-regulating campaign finance reform.
