It’s not too late to pull your kids out and send them to Christian schools and boycott the public eduation system in the U.S. If enough people do it, we’ll also have the votes to cut off their funding.

So students were given the option of busy work or hearing a lecture.

How many opted for voluntary busy work?

"I am going to encourage you to have sex and encourage you to use drugs appropriately,"

Do you realize how incompetent this guy must be as a psychologist?....he actually believes he can say the word "appropriately" to a teen and that they will 1. hear it 2. know what it means 3. act on it.

The elite liberals of the world, those who spout rhetoric like: "I'm a heart liberal, but a mind conservative." (thank you Hillary) really mean "I'm a MINE conservative" MY kids will go to private school without all the socialist indoctrination. (do you think Chelsea was ever told this crap?!) MY money and property will be hidden from the tax man. MY house will have gas powered lights and MY transportation will be by private jet.

The senators said the production, a part of the Conference on World Affairs of the University of Colorado, was "a disgrace."

Secular-progressives don't care about grace, and don't care about disgrace, either.

...my nephew attends Boulder High School... he seems to feel that some of the comments have been unfairly interpreted.

I listened to the tape on tv, twice. There was no mistaking the things they said, and no room for interpretation. Your nephew must be experiencing "I can't believe I just heard that!"

My son recently went through the sex ed program in our very conservative GA school. They delay it until the end of seventh grade here.

It was a STRICT abstinence program, and NO inappropriate questions were answered, they were told to discuss that topic with their parents.

The school itself admits it was a mandatory meeting.

Some ask the question why teen sex can’t be viewed through biblical mores, which made it possible to emancipate the female at 12 and the male at 13.

I don’t know how many opted out. He says that most wanted to go to the lecture. I would have if I was in high school. Why would anyone choose to do an assignment of any kind, when they could go to a seminar on sex and drugs?

I think the kids feel that they are being treated as adults, and they like that kind of discussion. Unfortunately, high school kids are not adults, and many are far from being adults.

According to my nephew, drugs and sex are very prevalent at the school. He laughed when I suggested that the content was inappropriate for the age group. He asked how can the content be inappropriate when they are all engaged in the actual behavior.

I am glad that my children are not being raised in Boulder.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. If you want on/off this list, please freepmail me. The main Homeschool Ping List by DaveLoneRanger handles the homeschool-specific articles.

And my colleagues wonder why I homeschool!

Honestly, we had a whole boatload of these people around when I was in school, too. They’d go on and on about how it wasn’t natural for teenagers to be virgins, or for anyone to not drink, smoke or do drugs. I firmly believe they were trying to preach a self-fulfilling prophecy, and I believe they are trying to do so now, as well.

They were even more insistent when I was in college; as educators, we were not supposed to expect anything but hedonism from our students. Even then, most teachers wanted more for their students than libertine wantonness, but the humanist education movement was busy telling us that values were relative, no one value system was better than any other, and anyone who thought any differently was not fit to teach...

That’s what “Education Inc.” has brought us: thirty years of trying to destroy the moral fabric of America.

Some Boulder, Colo., High School officials have been given a "reprimand" for setting up and taking students as young as 14 to a seminar in which the children were told to "have sex, do drugs," but a request from the state legislature for further action has been turned down.

Sounds like the work of PP! Have sex, its ok, just be protected.

::chuckling:: 'homeschool ping'...makes me glad I homeschool, that is for sure!

So what does it take to put in legislation that says equal time for abstinence programs??!! Anyone know?
