G-8 Protesters Smell? Leftists Complain That Police Took 'Scent Samples'
Newsbusters (affiliate of Media Research Center) ^ | June 7, 2007 | Tim Graham

In an almost surreal but sympathetic account of radical leftist protesters of the Group of Eight Summit in Germany, Washington Post reporter Craig Whitlock is forwarding the protester’s outrage of the moment: German police have taken "scent samples" of protest organizers for police dogs to locate them in a crowd. For those of you who suspect protesters are easily smelled at 50 feet, Whitlock explained:

The German government has spared no expense -- spending upward of $100 million -- to safeguard this week's summit, which brings together leaders of the industrial countries known as the Group of Eight. German authorities have taken an offensive-minded approach, using a variety of tactics that critics say conjure bad memories of the country's totalitarian past.

For instance, police and prosecutors have surreptitiously acquired scent samples of some protest organizers to make it easier for police dogs to locate them in a crowd, authorities have acknowledged. [snip rest of blockquote]

Those poor dogs. Where is PETA to complain about forcing the dogs to sniff for leftists?

Maybe if these moonbats would take a bath more than once per year there may not be much of a scent to go on.

They’d have to get over their fear of soap and water first.

Didn’t you have a sign that said, “Cartman says,’HIPPIES STINK.’”

I'm still looking for a shot of the sign you're talking about, but here's a similar one...

The late Great RR once spoke about the Haight Ashbury hippies.

"They speak like Tarzan, have hair like Jane, and smell like Cheetah!"

Nuff Said!

Maybe Raoul was just talking about the Cartman saying, while he was holding that sign. I may have misremembered the sign.

>>Those poor dogs. Where is PETA to complain about forcing the dogs to sniff for leftists?<<

Interesting.

I have a friend who goes to all the big economics events. At the one in Davos, Switzerland he was having lunch with a couple of people that y’all would recognize and another low profile person, like himself when the swat team came in.

One of the people at the table had run a red light in a rental car at a previous economics forum and they had face matched him from a street camera entering the restaurant and responded by sending 6 guys in body armor to arrest him.

So the security at things is nuts - nuts to the point of making things worse, I think.

Taking scent samples seems a lot to me like fingerprinting - it should not be done routinely but then we are losing those kinds of privacy rights in this country so its not surprising people are losing them elsewhere.

No, you remembered correctly; Raoul did make a sign, “Cartman sez...” I may even have it stored somewhere in the compound.

They could have taken the dogs to the raw sewage plant to get the scent of filthy liberals. The poor dogs will have to walk around smelling an aroma like rotten Provolone or Fermunda-the-nuts cheese.

Also remember that a lot of these leftists think modern toilets are bad for the environment. That ought to make it easier to, er, sniff them out.
