The mind set of Stalin is no different than many of the endless mind-numbed drones at Daily Kos, Democratic Underground, and MoveOn.org.

Who killed Kirov? Stalin asked, but he already knew the answer.

Bump.

I read a biography of him years ago that said he walked away from his first wife’s grave a heartless man. How might he have been different if she had lived?

I enjoyed Sebag Montefiore’s other Stalin biography. He writes in a breezy, gossipy style that reads very quickly.

In 1893 Stalin passed the exams to Tiflis seminary. He had no vocation — at the age of 13 he had read The Origin of Species and lost whatever belief in God he might have had -

another illustrioius Darwinist.

In Stalin’s Russia, the prudent took care to never be the first to stop applauding.

Had the Czar been more ruthless, would the world have been spared the likes of Lenin and Stalin? Had the Shah been more ruthless, would the world have been spared Khomeini and the Iranian mad mullahs? Had the Israelis been more brutal with their attackers, would the surrounding Arab states be more malleable?

Weakness in the face of an enemy is prelude to suicide.

A Stalinist friend...

Isn't that a contradiction in terms?

Interesting read.

Stalin read the Origin of Species and lost what ever faith he had.

Hm?.....It is **precisely** for this reason that evolution is pushed so hard in our government K-12 schools and in our colleges and universities. The Marxists who control U.S. education want our nation’s youth to lose whatever faith they have.
