ARRIVING IN BRITAIN by air the day after two men crashed a gasoline-laden Jeep Cherokee into the main terminal at Glasgow's international airport, and a couple of days after two car bombs were discovered in the heart of London, I was surprised by how calm everybody was.
Apart from the prohibition of passenger drop-off and pickup next to the terminal building at Birmingham Airport, everything was as usual. Men and women in Muslim garb mingled in the crowd with perfect tranquillity, expecting neither violence nor even verbal reproach.
Was this a sign of the admirable tolerance of British society, or of its bovine complacency born of an inability, or unwillingness, to make the effort to defend itself? Was it decency, cowardice or stupidity?
I really don't know anymore, which is an indication of the problem: Only time will tell, and by then it might be too late.
A friend who met me at the airport said something that must by now be true of many ordinary British people. Just as we used to wonder, on meeting Germans of a certain age, what they had done during World War II, so she wondered, when she found herself next to a young Muslim on a bus or a train, what he thought of the various bombings perpetrated by his co-religionists and whether he might be a bomber. She found herself looking for the nearest exit, as we are all enjoined to do by flight attendants before the plane takes off, in case of the need for swift exit.

I was rather dumbfound the first time a you doctor said this but by the fourth or fifth time it became common place.
My friends and I have a personal joke about some of the Doctors coming to America from terrorists countries performing operations and actually doing things to endanger the patients life.
In one Texas town as I write there is an open war between American and Foreign doctors over the foreign doctors stealing patients.
It works this way.
The American doctor sends a long time patient to say an Indian Internist doctor for a certain problem and expects the Indian doctor Internist to write a diagnosis and send the patient back.
However, what is happening is that the Indian doctor sends the patient to another Indian doctor and the patient never comes back to the American doctor.
This has created a very big problem in some towns that i know of.
Indians are known for becoming directors of residency programs in hospitals and then brining in a dispassionate amount of Indians to other countries who apply.
The problem is that many Indians refuse to learn Spanish so that they can communicate with a majority of their kalifornia patients.
Especially in Kalifornia.
Arnold probably does not know about this because no one in government seems to give a damn whether or not doctors can communicate with their patients.
Intern residents from some countries are so very arrogant about having to learn English much less Spanish.

There is a slight difference between rounding up Japanese and putting them into internment camps as we did in WWII and being less tolerant and more proactive against radical Islamists types. No one is born a muslim. Islam is a corrosive belief system that isn't compatible with free society. Can a society that embraces freedom of belief tolerate beliefs that are a threat to that society? What do we do with the people and things that are a threat to us? In general, if we can't stay away from them, we kill them or lock them up.

I think the immigration reform was an effort to push the parties back to the 1950 of one pole (party) for the rich and successful and the other pole (party) for the poor working class.

Theodor Dalrymple is horrified by his own prejudice against Muslims, admitting it is a perfectly rationale response. I think this is the first important step for the British. Eventually, they must stop all Muslim immigrants and begin expelling the ones they have. Otherwise, they are going to lose their country or keep it a live in constant fear of terror.
Theodore Dalrymple knows a thing or two about Islamic criminality.
IIRC, he’s had plenty of interaction/examinations of Islamics that
are have “interactions” with the British legal system.

I guess I’m as cynical.
During my grad school years, I’d occassionally wonder what amount of
corruption had gotten some of my fellow graduate students from their
hell-hole home country to a nice classroom in the USA.
This is a pet peeve of mine. Sick people should not have to deal with foreign docs they cannot understand. Also, lots of qualified Americans would love to be docs. So, build the med schools and train enough American docs.
