Father, I lift up our government to You today, Lord, as it is a mess. It seems that the whole of government revolves around either attacking other people or shielding one's self from attack. Self-serving. Self-absorbed people "lead" the land while the people blindly follow whatever the evening news tells them. Come in speedily, Lord, and cause this nation to seek You. Cause Your Church to seek You. And be found of us when we cry. Our nation is spoiled. It is so blessed, and yet it takes those blessings for granted. Do not let us be destroyed by our toleration of that which is evil; but rather, revive our hearts so that we may eschew evil and cling to that which is good.
Father, may our President keep his eyes upon You throughout the rest of this administration. May his heart not turn to political strategizing to make the Republicans the number one priority; but rather, may he keep focussed on Your plan for this nation and even if the stars fall around him, may he do right.
Dear Father! Bring us good men and women to lead us! Wise men and women! Godly men and women. And may Satan's plans for this nation crash in defeat.
For it is in the blessed name of Christ Jesus my Lord and Savior that I pray these things.

David, I missed you in class today,” I told one of my college students when we ran into each other in the Information Services office. He gave me that stunned “freshman in the first week of college” look, and then it struck him—he had misread his schedule and had gone to the wrong class.
The funny thing was, there were two grammar labs—mine, and another professor’s—and he had attended the wrong one. I told him, “That’s okay. You were getting the right information, so I won’t count you absent.”
As I thought about it, I concluded that this is a little like the options many Christians have regarding the churches they attend. The key factor is to attend a church where the right information is shared—where salvation through Jesus Christ is preached (1 Cor. 15:3-5), where the Bible is the standard for faith and practice, and where an opportunity to serve in Jesus’ name is provided. It’s important that the message proclaims the true gospel and the historical message of Jesus—not a “different gospel” (Gal. 1:6-9). It’s not the messenger that’s most important; it’s the message.
What “gospel” are you hearing? Is it built on the foundation of Jesus Christ? (1 Cor. 3:11).
Amen.

Father, we ask for Your guidance so that we can better treat the least among us. Bless that we shall have the wisdom and kindness not to reject those who need help regardless of who they are and where they are from.

Yes, Lord, I agree with Blogger and the others on this thread who lift up the U.S. to you in prayer. You are the only true God—all others are false, including anything that we have given more importance than you. We repent and now give you alone all glory and honor for your lovingkindness, your holiness, your goodness, your perfection.
Please cleanse our nation and this earth, and help us lift up in reverence your holy name. Please help our laws to agree with your Law, the Bible. Raise up, we implore you, godly men and women to lead us rightly. Guide each of us in the way we should go. Help us make choices in our lives based on the way you would have us live our lives. O Lord, cut off the power of evil men and women. Please expose any wicked plots and plans; let them come to naught, and let the would-be perpetrators be brought to justice.
Please help us to prevail in this war brought against us by radical Islamists, who have set themselves up against your Jewish people and the land of Israel—as well as against your Christian people and Western civilization. We cannot win on our own, dear God. Guide us and give us supernatural help. Please be with us and help us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
