Al-Qaeda second-in-command Ayman al-Zawahiri said on Tuesday the group is preparing a "precise response" to Britain's decision to bestow a knighthood on author Salman Rushdie.
"I say to (Britain's Queen) Elizabeth and (former British Prime Minister Tony) Blair that your message has reached us and we are in the process of preparing for you a precise response," Zawahiri said in an audio recording posted on an Internet website often used by Islamic militants.
What I can’t understand is why a culture that hates ours so much, gives a RAT’S about whom our culture esteems (as with knighthoods).
I mean, really. Would we really do more than roll our eyes if we heard that Osama bin Jerkin were given this-or-that order of nobility by, say, iran’s Grand Ayatollah? Who cares?
I wonder what gave them the idea to grant him Knighthood now, after all these years.
Not that I object, it just seemed out of the blue, and the response is as expected from the terrorist organization known as Islam.
I really wish someone would do the world a favor and give ol’ al-Zawahiri a lead enema.

As far as ‘outrage’ these guys get ‘outraged’ because it is Tuesday. The West does not behave like these barbarians and the barbarians consider that a weakness which they are more than willing to exploit, i.e., how many churches are there in any moslem country? They are the kings of one-sided rules and one sided outrage.
Nothing is going to appease them and they will not stop this bullying nonsense until the West show a little backbone. They believe correctly or not that we are weak naive fools. I wish I knew how this lunacy will end.

I agree, the timing is really unbelievable. Someone along the line must have said: “If we chose to knight this man who has been hunted by radical Islam for more than a decade, don’t you think it’s immediately going to create a jihadi furor?” And maybe that’s why they did it, cause f*** ‘em, we can knight whoever we want. It’s pretty ballsy really. So while I marvel at the timing, I smile at the stubborness.

You give the UK Government too much credit. This is a multi-culti "diversity" sop. The bureaucrats who dreamed this up sincerely thought it would show their love of people of color, and tolerance of those of different religions, and lead to fluffy bunnies and rainbows and pet unicorns for everyone.
