MAYBE IT'S JUST IMPOSSIBLE TO ENFORCE IMMIGRATION LAWS
Nealz Nuze/WSB Radio ^ | July 11, 2007 | Neal Boortz

Posted on 07/11/2007 5:51:11 AM PDT by Turret Gunner A20

OK .. I know. Some of you are going to say I'm talking about me. Go ahead and have your fun. What I'm talking about is attempts on the part of Cobb County, Georgia to do something on the local level about illegal immigration. I guess the county officials think that they're going to have to do something on their own since it is pretty much clear at this point that the federal government is going to do nothing ... not even enforce the laws we have right now.

In Cobb County they're thinking about a law relating to the number of unrelated people that can live in any single-family residence. Since illegals have shown a propensity for cramming 15 or more people into one three-bedroom home, it is thought that this might make it just a bit more uncomfortable for illegals to exceed their welcome.

Well, here come the "Latino activists." They're screaming bloody murder that this law is aimed at a specific racial group and is, therefore, (a) racist, (b) illegal, (c) evil, (d) wicked and (e) mean and nasty.

OK ... let's noodle this one out. Is it just possible that Hispanics make up the bulk .. somewhere close to, say, 95% of illegal aliens in the country?

So, if you're going to pass any law that tries to address the problem of criminal aliens, isn't it just possible that that law is going to have a disproportionate affect on Hispanics? Couldn't Homer Simpson figure this one out?

So .. here's the deal. Illegals and those who support them, have a ready-made weapon that they can use against us in the battle to enforce our laws. Since, insofar as illegal immigration is concerned, most miscreants are Hispanic, we are completely unable to enforce those laws because it would disproportionately affect --- (guess who?) --- Hispanics! Therefore, you can't pass any laws that would have a meaningful affect on illegal immigration! Don't you just love political correctness?

It is impossible to enforce immigration laws when the majority of the three branches of Government are dead set against it.

Maybe it’s just impossible to enforce ANY law?

Murder, stealing, rape etc..

So why have laws?

Because you can’t have anarchy. Not everyone will get caught but you need BOUNDARIES in any CIVILIAZED society.

ENFORCE immigration laws NOW and add new ones as Arizona did - it’s WORKING!

How do we know its ‘impossible’ when we have yet to attempt it uniformly?

Why isn’t it “impossible” to enforce the tax laws? There are many more tax-payers than illegals, but sheer volume doesn’t seem to deter the IRS from trying to catch tax cheats.

Of course it is possible to enforce immigration laws. Only an idiot or someone with an agenda against enforcing them would say "there are too many here already, therefore nothing can be done." The problem is that there are too many politicians who oppose enforcing them out of personal gain or their own private agenda.

The millions can be deported through direct and indirect means quite easily. Eisenhower did it.

Its impossible to enforce laws against theft, rape and murder. People still commit those crimes so we should give up enforcing those laws. Its too costly and to damned hard when those laws keep getting broken.

Neal, put me in charge and I’ll show you how to do it. I am tired of being discriminated against as a white taxpayer. I also do not get free health care of welfare for every baby my wife pops out. So when is the discrimination against me going to end?????

The whole "disproportionate effect" theory is nothing but muddled Warren Court thinking. It's true that it still infects parts of the Executive branch (all those EEOC organizations, and their ilk founded in the 1960's) but as we just saw recently, we have a new Supreme Court, that says that racism is what it is intended to be, not the result of unintended consequences.

As long as a law is race-neutral on its face, John Roberts will make sure that it is upheld, without regard to the fact that it appears to hit one group more than another.

Far from it. He's just pointing out how absurd the argument of the "activists" are.

It’s not impossible to enforce the laws. Just do it. The arguments against it phony and disingenuous and should be exposed for that.

It’s not even like it’s hidden deep in meaning... he directly addresses the fact that people find immigration laws racist, then claims that such laws are then impossible, due to the fact that a single race (mexicans) are the largest violator of immigration laws.

If it’s going to involve 12,000,000 law cases, it will be impossible. Cut the red tape...No papers...Back you go!! No court, no attorneys, no more free lunch.

I don’t even think the “disproportionate effect” idea is even valid any more, after Washington v. Davis. USSC said in that case that even though a police officer test had a disproportionate negative effect on black candidates, the test was OK because it was “facially neutral” or something like that.

is it impossible? let's see... if there were 20m illegals, and there were only 5m deportations each year, that would still be less people then are issued speeding tickets each year... and they don't have any trouble going after those people.

no one is saying you could do it in a single year...but you could do it over 5 or 10. end result, the problem gets solved, which is what everyone wants... unless you are here illegally (or hoping to get something from the illegals)

it's a conflict of interest to ask the government to do something that is unpopular with a segment of the population... when elections are decided by 2 or 3%, they could swing by that same population segment

The IRS doesn’t do such a great job, they ignore many tax cheats, and are about 3 years behind on auditing the others.

I had a friend just get a notice on their 2004 taxes. It wasn’t a big problem, they didn’t owe any money, the IRS was just asking for an explanation of something. Point is, though, it’s their 2004 return and the IRS is just getting around to looking at it.
