Yesterday's Bloody Student Uprising Anniversary a Non-Event
AntiMullah ^ | 07/12/07 | Reports from Iran & Alan Peters

18th Tir anniversary of the bloody Student uprising of several years ago, was pretty quite in Iran this year. One reason was that at least 10 of the leaders of the Student Unity group from around the country were arrested in advance as have been other dissidents to prevent any demonstrations against the Ahmadi Nutjob regime.

In the first video you can see how a handcuffed prisoner is mistreated while being "arrested". Public floggings (whippings) to set an example have been held in the streets in various parts of cities to terrify inhabitants.

Nazi suppression and retaliation had nothing on what Ahmadi-Nejad and his hooded street police are doing. Clearly they fear something or they would not wear the balaclava type hoods.

The article provides links to brief videos of some of the "most wanted" in Iran with a request to identify them.

It’s not just summer heat. Iran has become a pressure cooker with no safety valve. Will it explode? Is there enough spirit left in the miserble and cowed populace? We should all know shortly as things hit the fan in Iran, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon in a matter of weeks.

It is amazing how many of the “just hold on till they reform themselves” crowed really are confused by simple things like... there’s no freedom to do anything except what the heck you’re told to do, over there.

Just because we tolerate an irrational degree of agitpropers and aggressive enemy sympathizers that work over time to pull our own nation down from within, doesn’t mean they will.

“In a matter of weeks” or a matter of days?

Only a truly huge and insuppressible explosion will do any good. If they overthrow the current mullahs, there will just be a new crop of mullahs in a few years

Islam has its own internal logic. If you are a Muslim, it is your duty to advocate and try to live under Islamic rule. To reject Islamic rule is to reject Islam

The only thing that will have a lasting effect is a mass rejection of Islam, and a civil war that results in the expulsion or extermination of all clerics plus anybody who still wants Islam.

I don't see that happening soon. Sorry. Meanwhile, the rest of the world cannot wait for the Iranians to handle their mullahs before they become a nuke threat

Iran: Unprecedented Nationwide Survey

Discontent with the current system of government, the state of Iran’s economy, and isolation from the West is widespread throughout Iran. In this context, nuclear weapons are the lowest priority for the Iranian people. Iranians even overwhelmingly support their government providing full inspections and a guarantee not to develop nuclear weapons in return for trade and assistance from other countries. The popular will to live in a democracy open to the West and the United States, with greater economic opportunity, comes from every region and segment of Iranian society. These are among the significant findings of the first nationwide public opinion survey of Iran on these issues since President Ahmadinejad took office in August 2005.

The survey was conducted by telephone from June 5th to June 18th, 2007, with 1,000 interviews proportionally distributed according to the population covering all 30 provinces of Iran. The last poll to ask similar controversial questions was conducted in September 2003 by Abbas Abdi inside Iran, who was imprisoned as a result.

Developing nuclear weapons was seen as a very important priority for the Iranian government by only 29% of Iranians. By contrast, 88% of Iranians considered improving the Iranian economy as a very important priority for their government. Rather, 80% of Iranians favor Iran providing full inspections and a guarantee not to develop or possess nuclear weapons in return for outside aid.

(excerpt)

68% of Iranians also favor normal relations and trade with the United States. In return for normal relations, a majority of Iranians favor recognizing Israel and Palestine as independent states, ending Iranian support for any armed groups inside Iraq, and full transparency by Iran to the United States to ensure there are no Iranian endeavors to develop nuclear weapons.

Yet the most significant finding of our survey for Iran’s present rulers may be the Iranian people’s opposition to their current system of government. 61% of Iranians were willing to tell our pollsters over the phone that they oppose the current Iranian system of government, where the Supreme Leader rules according to religious principles and cannot be chosen or replaced by direct vote of the people.

Even more telling, however, over 79% of Iranians support a democratic system instead, where the Supreme Leader, along with all leaders, can be chosen and replaced by a free and direct vote of the people.

The nice thing about hooded thugs is, they can’t see attacks from behind.
