United Way is a scam of major proportions and I never give them a cent, especially after their management was found to be skimming UW’s mega income for lavish personal use. Messing with the Scouts was the last straw.

It’s hard to believe isn’t it? That link you gave listed some amazing things. Opposing prayer in support of the persecuted church because it is “supported by the religious right.” What Christian could possibly oppose prayer for their persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ? Absolutely amazing. This is what comes from not taking the process in Matthew 18 seriously and being willing to turn away from Church members who do not live as Christians:

15”If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’ f he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

Absolutely. In reverse. And watch this not get covered in the mainstream media which hides most of the far left activity of major Democrat politicians. That's how the country "suddenly" changes without most people realizing what is in process.

The Bible itself contains quite a lot of “anti-gay ideology.”

You're just supposed to ignore all that stuff because it is not relevant in today's society, dontcha know... The Bible is a "Living Document", and all that...

OH give me a break!!! The United Methodist Church is one of the most homosexual loving churches there is. I know, I was a Methodist for 20 years before I quit because of their apostacy.

If this guy is a Methodist, then he will not “judge” or have any discernment and will do the liberal’s bidding.

BTW, isn’t Hitlery a Methodist? Didn’t she and Bill attend a Methodist church in Washington DC after the Monica incident?

You know, I don't know the answer to that question anymore. 7 years ago I would have said "no." Now I see us slipping towards the edge of a cliff. Hate to go over to the dark side in terms of my political thinking and join Bork and Buchanan, but we need to work very hard to stop this sort of thing or the left will defeat us through their control of cultural institutions. Gramsci's long march is nearing completion.

“... lefties in this [UMC] church.”

It depends very much on the individual congregation. Methodism is a very big tent. The Methodist church we attend is small, laid-back, very active in community outreach, but has a traditional worship service (liturgy, hymns, etc.). The Methodist church about a mile up the street is large, dominated by button-down, Chamber of Commerce/Junior League types, and (strangely) uninvolved in the surrounding community, but has a folk-rock service each Sunday.

Have you read other stuff by Tooley? He heads up the IRC’s Methodist group, tracks the Methodist drift away from Biblical tradition and the to the political left.

I all boils down to “We will not have that Man rule over us!” Then into anti-church, anti-bible, anti- God and finally above all “ANTI-CHRIST”

Well, I know that a lot of beleaguered Methodists are choosing to stay and fight for their church, not that I blame anyone for leaving a church in apostacy in a local church or in the denominations governing body itself. Wesley changed the world for the better in my opinion. I’m not a Methodist but if it was “old school” Methodism it would still be a wonderful church.

That is an amazing list. Note:

Maldonado, who is also president of the denomination's Hispanic caucus, MARCHA, compared immigration laws to segregation. And he was dismissive of worries about illegal immigration

In other words, having a border is racist.

Well then, having a country is racist. I guess we should just declare the Constitution to be Un-Constitutional, and hand over all the property to Mr. Maldonaldo.

I, too, left Methodism after five generations because of extreme homosexual advocacy and infiltration. But my relatives in other parts of the country (I am in the Northeast) continue going to Methodist churches and do not experience the same thing. I go with them when I'm in the South or elsewhere, and there is a difference.

The American Spectator article indicates that the various “governing bodies” (I use that term loosely) of the Methodist Church have held fast to its scripture-based opposition to homosexuality. This hardly seems to indicate a turn to the left. But, as I said, Methodism is very decentralized and individual pastors and congregations differ in their attitudes, for example, towards an openly homosexual churchgoer. The Methodist church I attend, however, would never accept a homosexual minister. By contrast, the Episcopal Church split wide open over this issue.

I saw the fight as hopeless. I did not want to be a part of a church that was not a part of orthodox Christianity.

Two incidents in particular made me want to leave. In my little niece’s Sunday school class, they were teaching the “Circle of Life”, which is a Wiccan thing.

Secondly, on day I was having a discussion with an elderly lady about homosexuals and the church. She believed that it was just fine to accept into church membership practicing, unrepentant homosexuals. She saw it as a loving and compassionate thing. While I believe we should love them, pray for them, accept them when they have at least made an effort to turn away from sin, I do not believe the church should accept their lifestyle or accommodate it in any way.

If this sweet old lady, who should have known better, was that brainwashed, then I figured that she wasn't the only one. She represented the majority view in that church (and probably the denomination.)

P.S. If you are reading this and disagree, then you don't have a problem with me, you have a problem with the Bible and orthodox Christianity.

“Their” religion is secular, and ultimately totalitarian, socialism. The NAZI’s and the Soviets used sexual “freedom” to consolidate their political power and make it attractive as an ideology. They attack all who do not share their faith in man as a God who can change moral rules at a whim unbounded by any external reality.
