WASHINGTON — Top Republicans on the Senate Armed Services and Foreign Relations Committees will offer a resolution as early as Friday, calling on President Bush to develop detailed contingency plans for getting the U.S. out of Iraq, a move that could attract support from more in the GOP.

The proposal by Sens. John Warner of Virginia and Richard Lugar of Indiana includes a gradual reduction of U.S. forces and a change of mission.

Warner and Lugar are not waiting until the September report from the top generals and U.S. ambassador in Iraq before calling for a change, but their nonbinding measure will give the Bush administration until then to develop alternatives to the current mission.

The two are getting set to unveil an amendment to the defense authorization bill that calls on the White House to develop a contingency plan for withdrawal. The resolution would be non-binding.

This yellow-bellied cowards better be developing their own contingency plans for leaving the Senate. None of them deserves re-election if they vote with the Democrats on this central issue.

Is it going to take a suitcase nuke in Manhattan to get this brain dead nation to awaken? Dear God I hope not.

They’re already packing the troop’s bags and they aren’t even Generals or Commander in Chiefs.

The defeatists and traitors suffer from Arabism decease.

What is Arabism decease?

It is a severe state of delusion where the person suffering from it live in a parallel universe and sees himself or herself as all powerful and victorious over his or her enemies when in reality he or she is utterly defeated.

When I lived in the Middle East for the first 22 years of my life, I always thought that this is only a decease that effects the Arabs, I was wrong.

They’re putting themselves in a box. President Bush can keep our troops in Iraq throughout the duration of his term then they can take the credit for defeat in retreat if they want.

These two, Warner and Lugar, want the troops withdrawn back to Germany where they think they still need them.

Other than that both are coping well with Alzheimers and a wide variety of cardiovascular problems that prevent blood flow to the brain.

A suitcase could eliminate them all in 2007 ~ we still have nearly 6 months left.

They used to say we had the best Congress money could buy.

Time for somebody to go buy a new one Fur Shur.

To these buttmunch RINOs I have this statement: Shut your gravy sucking pie holes and stand for your country. We have enough treason on the other side of the isle, we don’t need yours. You do this at your own peril. We’ll beat you in the primaries.

Scuttle in the halls of the Senate is that the real money shakers in our Party are starting to come down on these turncoats. An aid that works for a certain Senator told a local County politician here that the lack of money in the Republican War chest is getting the attention of the right people. Maybe... just maybe they will pull their collective head out of their arses before we lose America.

Gee, couldn’t see this one coming..../s

The dhimmis are not only trying to hand Al Quida a victory, they are setting the stage for ethnic cleansing and genocide in Iraq, yet no one calls them out on that fact.

Now we have scared RINO’s running AMOK and joining the Dhimi “losing” and making that an investment in the “Losing”
mutual fund.

I truly wish President Bush would call Congress back in town every time they try to leave for even a day. He has that power. Keep them in D.C., it will drive them nuts. When he says "Pass the legislation I want, and I won't call you back", then they will have a choice to make. If and until, they will be in session,24/7/365. Let them figure out what will please him, so they can go back to their constituents and gladhand the rubes.

Agreed.

The copperhead wing of the GOP disgusts me. Do they think, for a second, that we are going to support a "Republican" that considers his political carrier more important than the lives not only of our heroic troops but the lives of their constituents as well?

If we flee from Iraq it won't be long until the dying starts here in America. Americans do not want a bomb shelter future.

If they think people are "frustrated" with Iraq: Wait till there is a Beslan, a second 911, or an American Hiroshima. They will be more than frustrated then. And even the people who want to end the war now will remember who the lilly livered beltway cowards were.

There will NOT be a safe quarter for them anywhere in America... they will pay and pay and pay and pay... a debt that can never be balanced!
