So, let's see where we are:

You claim that you now have smoking gun proof that "Yachts Against Subs" actually exists, based on an easily-faked craigslist classified ad by someone who, coincidentally, has the same last name as your uncle. Is that about it?

So what is this web of lies I've allegedly been caught in? All I've said from the beginning is that I can't find any evidence of "Yachts Against Subs" anywhere. I've searched library catalogues--including ones you've named--bibliographies, booksellers and more. I've challenged you repeatedly to show that it exists, and the best you've been able to come up with is a CL ad by someone with one of your family names. I hardly feel caught in a web, there, sport.

Now you, on the other hand, have told us that: The Yankees burned down the synagogue in Alexandria years before any synagogue was built there.

That there was a captured U-boat in a Galveston park.

That the Spanish were celebrating Thanksgiving near El Paso "100+" years before the Pilgrims landed in 1620, even though Cortez only landed in Mexico in 1519 and the first expeditions didn't approach the El Paso area until the 1540s.

Challenged to support any of these ludicrous claims, you sputter and fume and attempt to change the subject, calling any source presented no good while never presenting any of your own.

And I've looked for it a lot of places, starting with the University of Houston library, where you said it was available. A few of the Lost Causers have looked for it as well, as I recall, but no one has ever been able to come up with it. No lie there. Show me something other than someone who oh-so-coincidentally shares a family name with you listing it on Craigslist and I'll be happy to say, "Wow, you were right." Then I'll try to read it and find where the author claims there's a U-boat in a Galveston park.

Now, how about answering some of those questions you said you'd answer if I 'fessed up. When was that Thanksgiving again?

What both ways? I think the listing was a fraud. I showed how easy it is to list a fake item on there, and had I not admitted up front that it was a fake, it would likely have gone undetected. When I got the email from "Tara Bankhead" and recognized it as a family name you've bandied about, my suspicions were strengthened. Of course that whole fantasy story about the nice old man going with her to the financial office of the college (in August) and paying off her entire debt was a bit of a tip-off, too.

I'll admit that I've posted there once or twice over the years, mostly to tell them that they're wrong about some fact or another. After the Kelo decision it was fun to watch them try to get their heads around the fact that it was the conservatives on the court who had dissented--they couldn't believe that the liberals were willing to give their property to corporations, but the conservatives weren't. But in general they're rather shrill and irritating bunch and not very entertaining.
