I like the America is a Good Nation spot better. The other one is really cheesy.

Duncan Hunter should have a spot that shows his ACTIONs as a Congressman. --Quick snippets of Bills he's associated with that have DONE something. The American people want someone not afraid to act---to do the right thing for the right reasons and someone they can look up to, yet be comfortable enough to go to a BBQ with and know he'd be a "good guy." The America is a Good Nation gives you that "feeling" about Duncan, but doesn't tell you why, or what he's done to really make that feeling sink in.

Probably more than anyone wanted to hear, but...there you have it... IMHO

..thanks for the input

It's probably going to take a more skilled person than me to do what you suggest--but I thought it captured the man...

Answer: there was no room on the stage for both her and the token. The amateurish attempt at pandering was, well amateurish!

Post newsworthy material not campaign ephemera on FR please!

Not a little cheesy; it's totally cheesy. It's worthless. It says nothing about Hunter. It's a feel-good cheer-leading spot for Hunter supporters, good for inside the campaign headquarters, but little else.

The "Good Nation" one is only a little better. What he says is tautologically true about America, but says nothing about himself.

Hunter is a great conservative, but not a good candidate. If these videos are any indication, its no wonder he's so low in the polls.

Duncan Hunter, Secretary of Defense in a Fred Thompson administration.

That first link, is about as cheesy of an add as I have ever seen. Definitely won’t win many voters with that.

The second link is much more effective.

But then it’s posted here as some kind of indication of how great Duncan Hunter is...

Well, nevermind. Forget my criticism of the video. I acknowledge it has nothing to do with Duncan Hunter’s campaign and nothing to do with why he’s doing so poorly.

OK? I take it back, regarding the video.

The fact remains, however, that Duncan Hunter — while being a great conservative — remains a flop as a campaigner.

His campaign is going absolutely nowhere, and I know his die-hard friends here (all of whom I respect) are trying their best to turn that around, but they can’t. It can’t be done.

You can’t wave a magic wand and make a Duncan Hunter or a George Allen a great, or even good, campaigner.

Forget about it. It’s not going to happen.

WS, I hopoe you know that input is always ---nothing personal.

Hubby and I create b-roll videos for products shown on the two major shopping channels here, and in Canada and Europe. I guess this is the only reason I felt my opinion might be helpful. In 30-45 seconds, without audio or text, we must show what the product does, entice people's imagination as to how the product could help them in THEIR life-and bypass any obvious sales hurdles a product might have in people's minds.

EVERYthing in life is selling, whether it's you, a product, a concept, or...as the Dems seem to know how to do best, a "feeling."

IMHO again, Republicans want ACTION (goals) with the bonus feeling of patriotism. Dems prefer their goals translated through group feelings, with an occasional action someone ELSE is taking. This is how to tap the emotional "buttons" of the two groups and get them to vote. Everytime I think about it, I become more and more proud to be a Republican woman of action and personal responsibilities vs. a Democrat metrosexual loving, group hug, group decision making person. ;-)

..Princess

If you knew how little I know about video production you and your husband would die laughing.

But, IMO, there is a place for a message that simply makes a person feel good about the country and what the candidate generally stands for--remember "Morning in America"?

I may be asking you folks for some pointers...

I agree, but connect that feeling with the candidate for ownership of the concept and it does the candidate good. Otherwise, you’re only doing the viewer good because it makes only us feel good. Associate that good feeling with only your candidate seemingly being able to deliver that feeling, and you get a Ronald Reagan type ad.
