T'wit, FReeper extraordinaire, has died.
self | August 5, 2007 | 8mmMauser

Posted on 08/05/2007 3:55:55 AM PDT by 8mmMauser

A great FReeper and close friend passed. T’wit, also known as Timothy Wheeler passed on. In tribute, I would like to make this the August thread of Terri Dailies, the topic foremost in T’wit thoughts.

Tim was a man of great faith, a faith that grew stronger especially in recent months. As I type this, I still am not yet coherent, as I try to awaken and sip a good coffee brought to me recently by Tim. In his usual fashion, he probably figured I would appreciate a little care package and would appreciate the better quality than the usual fare we would fix.

But I do not want this thread to be maudlin, nor a reminiscing on anecdotes, rather a stab at what Tim would want.

T’wit was passionate about the beauty of nature, of good books, good music, and intellectual challenge, but mostly he was passionate about his love for our America, for Jim Robinson’s FreeRepublic, and for our fight for those in the plight of Terri Schiavo. For the latter, he sought justice and fervently hoped and prayed we on Terri’s List would carry on this battle against the evils of those who would control who lived and died.

In our many talks, he would sound like a poster boy for all the stated position of Jim Robinson.

His wife told me last evening the final thoughts he had. As can be expected, it was for us to continue our fight as we have done already. She hoped that rather than flowers or donations sent, that donations be directed at causes like that supporting Terri’s Legacy, the Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation. In this way, we remember him and further his wishes. T’wit and I talked a lot about faith and I can reassure all, his faith in Our Lord was strong and growing stronger, a comfort to me that he carried it to the end.

My words come out with difficulty this morning, but should flow better later, although without the word play and banter we would sometimes engage, at least for now. T’wit would be upset if I quit the puns for long, though.

We will continue our prayers for T'wit and his wife and family.

8mm

....Rudy is a Catholic?

Unfortunately, like too many Catholics Rudy is associated with a religion and not with the bridegroom of the church, Jesus. That holds true for many Protestants, also, who hold The Bible as truth, yet, do not follow it's teachings. Jesus is The Way, The Truth, The Life. They lean on what 'they think' on any given subject and do not have a renewed mind - the mind of Christ.

can't understand, either, why some Catholics find evolution acceptable when it's in total opposition to God's Word.

Politicians want/need to be liked by a majority of people - so they live under a PC umbrella. But a man of faith knows he and God are a majority. God can open doors that no one could open or close, He can make a crooked path straight, make enemies your footstool, make a way where there is no way.

The bishop in Terri's diocese took his 30 pieces of silver and disappeared during the Terri's crisis while his boss, the ailing Pope, spoke out loudly in defense of life, Terri's life. So many went great distances, you for one, to stand up against evil, some at the risk of being arrested. If nothing else, seeing individuals stand up for goodness, should have put a spark under the 'religious leaders' and 'christian politicans'. There should have been masses of priests, cardinals, bishops demanding her feeding tube remain in tact - and stay in their face until all churches surrounded her cell. We have the power of God on our side and we use it not.

Terri's situation, IMO, was THE opportunity - the defining moment - for the church and any politician who believes to rise up where they belong - and crush evil. This was not a political battle but The Church's battle. It was 'our' time, the priests, cardinals, bishops, and ministers to rise up and take command over evil. And that includes any politician who used their religion to appear righteous for votes.

All that being said - when ANY politician says, I'm a Christian/Catholic - it carries no weigh with me anymore for they already proved they are weak and have no fruit.

Mine isn’t quite that tricky.

And mine is void! Wonder when he saw 'it', he shook his head and said to himself, can't you do better than that!

Perhaps, in memory of T'wit, FReeper extraordinaire, and all he stood for - I should change it now. What about 'crossword'? :)

70 is pretty young in my family. Such a nice person, and I can not imagine how his family feels right now.

I thought EVERYONE would be in agreement when it came to Terri’s situation but I saw the other side that I didn’t know existed. Thank God for you, Twit, BB and a few others.

Amen! Some here turned her death watch into some blasted wild turkey fest. See, they don't understand that this can happen to them. I remember my bf yanking the computer power cord, and bundling me up in blankets. I had a slight stroke for other reasons, and he didn't want me any more stressed out than I was.

I took Terri's slow murder very personally. Let's just imagine Terri, T'wit, all of our loved ones having a damn good bbq. My dad will be manning the grill, and passing around cigars and Bushmills ;)

I’m so sorry. I haven’t been on the net and I won’t even try to put into words the loss I’m feeling.

Point taken. I notices a particularly noxious odor in my garage this morning, if you would like to come down to Virginia and figure out the cause of it you’re welcome to.

Are you all on septic? Our landlord "fixed" the leach line, and the toilets are belching up methane :(

Have you searched for a dead varmint?

When we were workin’ hard to save Terri, I’d post t’wit to write us a poem. Some of his greatest prose regarded Judge Greer or rolly polly Senator Jim King.

HELEN VALOIS is another unsung hero in Terri’s Fight. Let’s keep kicking euthanasia’s butt. There are more pro-life Americans than before. The real battle is with the mainstream media. They continue to propagandize on behalf of the death merchants against the disabled and the elderly.

Oh no. Good Lord, how can they continue to murder people and get away with it?

It took a while for T’wit’s death to kick into my head. My little one turned 13 on the 6th, and my oldest girl’s birthday is today. She’s 28. I remember those horrible looking birthday cakes I used to bake. They didn’t care if they were lumpy looking. Just a bad week, I guess.

I found it, it was a dead mouse. I hunted for more but didn’t see any, so hopefully that’s it.

He sure had a way with words. I didn’t know about his work with National Review.

Thank the Lord he was there to make us smile throughout that living hell. Remember when we were young, and thought we could make a difference? Sure, we can continue the fight, but look at the lives that have been lost in the meantime :(
