Ron Paul Launches TV Ads
KWTX TV ^ | 08/07/07 | uknown

Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul began running television campaign ads Tuesday in Iowa.

The spots for the Texas congressman began just days before a straw poll in the first presidential nominating state.

The 30-second ads will be in rotation in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and Sioux City.

Campaign spokesman Jesse Benton declined to reveal the cost.

The ad features Paul speaking to a crowd of supporters while an announcer repeats the Texan's fiscally conservative campaign themes.

Various statements flash across the screen, including "Stop the national I.D. Card."

Benton said the ad, the first of two for TV, will be accompanied by similar radio spots.

Thanks for the fair warning. I would suggest that all Republicans and Conservatives watch themselves here during the campaign. It does no good to trash fellow Republicans and Conservatives.

“Will there be any shots of him cookin’ up some shrimp?”

The democrats are saving that for when he wins the republican nomination.

The Federal Reserve, Courts, and many unelected (and often unconstitutional agencies of the government) have taken powers and responsibilities that congress has refused to oversee for the past 100 or so years. Hey, why make tough decisions when you can make everyone happy with fun stuff—like spending $$$$ YAY!

Come on, one of you geniuses...tell us why 17 Saudis attacked us on 9/11? I’m waiting to see which one of you says, “They attacked us because they hate freedom.”

Shhhhh......Ron's on -

My name is Ron Paulnut and I approve this message: To al Qaeda and the enemies of the US, you have nothing to fear from me, I will make our military surrender to you. If I had my way, Saddam would still be in power to rape and murder the innocent. He was not a threat to us or the world, just his people of Iraq, which I do not care about. I am no friend of Israel, so they better get used to the fact, I will let them get wiped off the map. Vote for me and I will let our international friends down. I am Ron Paulnut and I approve this message.

Short but accurate, I like it. Money well spent to attract voters.

Here is some local news coverage of Ron Paul.

It is tempting to drive to Ames and volunteer with the exit-polling. (There were shenanigans last time when Buchanan was threatening.)

Also nice to recognize a few of the Iowans for Paul who were at the candidate forum in June.

What I didn’t like was that when I go to the article I posted, there is the words ‘presidential candidate’ which is hoverlinked to an obama ad. I wonder how much he paid for that?

But the Paul ad was good indeed.

I use the Firefox browser with the Adblock Plus ad on. I hardly ever see the pesky devils, and if I do I can stop them cold.

I use firefox too, I’ll have to get the ad on. It’s those darn vibrant ads.

One of the most annoying new web ads on the net.

You can't win with the truth -- so you must lie. Neo-cons are not conservative and that is why they hate Paul.

Neocons do not feel that kind of alarm or anxiety about the growth of the state in the past century, seeing it as natural, indeed inevitable ... People have always preferred strong government to weak government, although they certainly have no liking for anything that smacks of overly intrusive government."

--Irving Kristol

The Weekly Standard
"The Neoconservative Persuasion" (08/25/2003)

"I regard myself to have been a young Trostkyite and I have not a single bitter memory.

--Irving Kristol (1995)

He is the only one who submitted a declaration of War.

You got a copy or a cite for that?

There's a press release from Ron Paul's office on the DoW here.

As I recall, at the time Dennis Hastert called the Constitution an "anachronism", but I couldn't immediately find a source on that.

I would not dream of letting Ron Pauls campaign pay for my vote.

It’s your dream so visualize it as you see fit...... Frankly I could care less whether you would let Paul pay for your ticket or not. But his campaign has 948 or some number to dole out. I’m sure they will find others to partake of his generousity.

Come on, all of you working together don't have the nads or can't muster the IQ to answer my simple question?

Besides "hating us for our freedom," why did 17 Saudis attack us on 9/11?

It was Rep. Hyde:

“There are things in the Constitution that have been overtaken by events, by time. Declaration of war is one of them. There are things no longer relevant to a modern society. Why declare war if you don’t have to? We are saying to the President, use your judgment. So, to demand that we declare war is to strengthen something to death. You have got a hammerlock on this situation, and it is not called for. Inappropriate, anachronistic, it isn’t done anymore.”

It seems we now know how to shut down these neo-con-Paul-haters. Ask them one simple question: Besides "hating us for our freedom" why did 17 Saudis attack us on 9/11?
