Hannity and Iowa Congressman Steve King (R) produced the declassified document posted above which was the debriefing of Joe Wilson on his return from Niger to investigate uranium sales to Iraq. What Wilson reported was that though Niger officials denied selling any yellow cake to Iraq, representatives of both Iraq and Iran had approached them about buying yellow cake.

The other document was a declassified letter from Valerie Plame recommended her husband, Joe, for the trip to Niger.

The documents were declassified as a result of the Scooter Libby prosecution.

So, they were both lying on separate items?

Many thanks. This whole story is likely now in MSM’s circular file.

The Wilson’s THINK they are ‘stars’ (only in their minds). I would like nothing better than to see them ‘frog marched’ to the nearest prison.

“Amid the crowd sipping Gruet sparkling wine (from a New Mexican vineyard run by an old French Champagne family) various stars could be glimpsed: Ali McGraw, Jane Fonda, Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame (who recently moved there in a blaze of local publicity) and Val Kilmer. The wealth of second-homers was also in sparkling evidence.”

The secret CIA document says that Iraq, Pakistan, and Iran approached Niger to purchase uranium yellowcake via France.

What President Bush said was that Saddam and his Iraqi government tried to buy yellow cake uranium from Nigeria. I don’t remember him saying that they actually were able to buy it. It really doesn’t matter whether they were successful or not in this specific instance. The point the President was trying to make was that Saddam was actively trying to get yellow cake all the while under UN sanctions. There was intent, and that was enough in my view to depose his government. I’d have to look at the exact text of what Wilson said, but my impression is that he said Iraq never met with Niger to buy yellow cake. If that is indeed what he said, it is directly refuted by his own testimony and he should be prosecuted for perjury.

Is this Wilson’s report? If so, I can see how that would be a big deal. He has stated several times there was no written report. This report clearly says that a Nigerian official was approached to meet with an Iraqi delegation. If this is what Wilson gave to the CIA than he is a liar.

I predict this is the first and the last time anyone ever hears about these revelations.

Yes. What Bush said in his State of the Union speech was: “The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa.”

What Wilson reported to the CIA was that the Niger officials said Iraq had approached them about opening “commercial” relations which the Niger official interpreted as meaning uranium. The report qualifies everything the officials say in light of UN sanctions against Iraq as a “rouge state” meaning if Niger has sold Saddam uranium they would not admit it.

During his presidency, Bill and Hillary intentionally stacked the CIA with very liberal players who strategically turned it into a media circus.

These sleeper liberals engulfed the CIA in liberal politics with their well-timed leaks, propaganda intended to damage America (Bush and Cheney particularly), and repeated grandstanding that delighted the leftist news media who was eager to hurt conservatives so that the very Marxist Hillary Clinton would have a clear path to power.

From Wikepedia:

In 2003 Wilson began to support and formally endorsed John Kerry for president, donated $2,000 to his campaign, and served as an advisor to and speechwriter for the campaign in 2003 and 2004.[19] He has made contributions to the campaigns of Democratic candidates, such as Senator Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts and Congressman Charles B. Rangel of New York, and to Republican Congressman Ed Royce of California.[20]

After the 2003 invasion of Iraq, Wilson supported activist groups like Win Without War, a nonpartisan coalition of groups united in opposition to the Iraq War, has been quoted in the organization’s press releases, and has been attacked by conservatives for such anti-war activism.[21] Nevertheless, according to an article to which Scott Shane and Lynette Clemetson contributed, published in the New York Times: “Despite conservatives’ efforts to portray him as a left-wing extremist, [Wilson] insisted he remained a centrist at heart. But after his tangle with the current administration, he admits ‘it will be a cold day in hell before I vote for a Republican, even for dog catcher.’”[22]

Wilson endorses Veterans for a Secure America (VSA).

On July 16, 2007, Wilson endorsed Democratic Senator from New York Hillary Clinton for President of the United States in 2008.[23

“...but Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame are bit players (albeit important bit players) in a much larger conspiracy by the beltway elite to discredit the President and punish him for failing to kowtow to their advice.”

Have you noticed that almost all of the Bush attacks via the MSM have come from the Dept of Homeland Security? Warrantless wiretaps story, FEMA stories, ICE...

“BTW this makes Valerie guilty of perjury before Congress, Senator Bond of Missourihas been pushing this fact.” No, the testicle-free republicans DIDN’T swear her in under oath, so they can’t get her for lying. Only republican witnesses allow themselves to be sworn in.

It seems to me ...

In effect what this means is the democrats and the media ran a con job to frame the Republicans and the White House. Allowing them to make false charges and devious campaign commmercials for two years.

How many thousand times did we hear Cheney, and Rove were about to be caught when all along the traitorous dems KNEW they were slandering the President....and committing TREASON against their country ..

I only hope President Bush is able to bring some favorable conclusion to the mess in the middle east...if only to shove it down the libs throats
