Politics: Barack Obama says U.S. forces in Afghanistan are "just air raiding villages and killing civilians." If a GOP presidential candidate put his foot in his mouth so often, the media would have destroyed him by now.
Speaking to a New Hampshire audience Monday, Obama answered a question about shifting U.S. troops from Iraq to Afghanistan as follows: "We've got to get the job done there, and that requires us to have enough troops so that we are not just air raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous pressure there."
It would be news to the soldiers we have deployed in Afghanistan, not to mention their families, to hear that the U.S. mission there is to kill civilians. Obama's charge is reminiscent of the kind of insults issued against our servicemen and women in Vietnam.
Writing in the Washington Post, William M. Arkin, who this year studied the issue of air power and civilian deaths at the Carr Center for Human Rights at Harvard, contended: "Obama's suggestion that civilians are dying in Afghanistan because there are not enough troops on the ground would be difficult to prove."
Obama went on to suggest that Saudi Arabia and China could somehow be persuaded to fill the vacuum left after a pullout of U.S. forces from Iraq. He also signaled he would subordinate U.S. interests to United Nations concerns.
"I want to go before the United Nations and say, 'America's back. And we're back ready to lead by our example, so we're going to work with you, not only on terrorism and nuclear proliferation, but we're going to work with you on climate change' " and other issues.

He knows nothing, nothing, nothing, he is trying to bs himself along.
Won’t work Obamarama.
Yep, he’d be better off at keeping his mouth shut. Let a republican say this type of stupid stuff...and we’d hear about it 24/7...and this guy was elected to be a senator...**shaking my head**
oh... you’re just saying that because you’re racist. [/s - big time]
Oh the idiot wants to be president all right, whats more worrisome are the tens of millions of bigger idiots who stand ready to vote for him and send him millions of dollars.

That is indeed worrisome

Obama wants to subordinate US interests to UN interest?
Maybe he’s not really running. Not really. Maybe he’s secretly out there working for Billary, helping the Beast to look more “centrist” while funneling off some of his own funds to secure a reservation in the Lincoln Bedroom.
He should have been “Quayled” by now.
And this from a former editor of the Harvard law review. Anyone who doubts that Obama osama is a campus affirmative action hothouse mutant orchid needs to meditate on this drivel long and hard.
i just puked
You beat me to it. This idiot wants the US to “lead by example” by cowering in fear before the mighty UN. Newsflash: Short of comitting mass suicide, the US is NEVER going to be “liked” by the UN.
How rediculous is this man! My dog makes more sense than he does
The dems have their “Dan Quayle”, wonder if the media will pound on him the way they did on old Danny boy...
