>>Why don’t the border states do anything about this?<<

Up until two months ago, the Gov. of AZ vetoed every single bill (but one) that had to do with illegal immigration. Gotta thank the Liberals for this one.

Well, hopefully border security and illegal immigration never become entirely a state’s issue.

The federal government must be forced to do the job or be held responsible for not.

Gov. Janet Napolitano has consistantly stated that illegal immigration is a Federal issue. (i.e. her reason for all - or most of - the vetoes.)

Joe Arpaio has taken the law into his own hands, in AZ.

We actually have no recourse...

If we had a free, independent news media, politicians could not get away with all of their tricks.

Why don’t the border states do anything about this?

The actual border area census is approximately 90% Hispanic. Down here 79% of all health care is paid for by the feds. More money will be puimped in to make NAFTA look good if nothing else.

All the children get free meals even doctors children. This was started when Bush was governor. The busses goes to the borders to transport children from Mexico to U.S. sschools.

The border states have been sceaming about illegal immigration for years and since this is the U.S. we needed the help of other states that weren't affected at the time. Now that they are affected with illegals invading their states and demanding services from American taxpayers, you people wonder. Your time to stand up was several years ago before the situation got so bad. Bush and the liberals knew this would happen and this is the reason we have had no effective border control. However, I did see the look on his face when the amnesty didn;t pass. It was priceless!!!! That look was produced by the American people taking down the telephone lines in Congress.

Bush is going to do what he wants while Congress is not in session. It makes no difference what the media or people say. So watch out for next week when he pushes the SPP and NAU in Canada.

I’m frustrated too. I live in Ohio and can’t even run errands without running into carsfull of them. Maybe I’m just more accutely aware or maybe my city is being overrun. I went through the drive through at Wendy’s and Latino music is being played loudly in the kitchen. Only the person who took my order was speaking English. I’ve reported it, but nothing gets done. A couple of young men and a gal parked next to me at the grocery store...again Latino music booming in a car that looked like it should be junked...they were yelling (fighting) in Spanish over the music...not paying any attention to how they parked and all I could think of was whether or not they had insurance if they damaged my car. In the store they gave the clerk a hard time about something, but none of them spoke English. And another young man pulled up next to me at the gas station...same thing...Latino music blaring...but the car looked like it had been ‘decorated’ with some kind of curtain fringe hanging from visor to visor. He must have caught me staring (I’d never seen anything like it) and I think he swore at me, in spanish of course.
And, I was only out for about 45 minutes, but it just makes me more resolved to continue doing everything I can to try and fight it.

I can’t imagine what it must be like for you down there. But for my part, I was completely unaware there was even an issue...I had no idea it was so bad. From time to time I’d hear about something happening but always considered it an ‘isolated’ incident. Here in Ohio, occasionally we’d hear about Chinese restaurants harbouring illegal aliens. All that changed March of ‘06...I was simply astonished when they took to the streets...and more dumbfounded, then outraged at the lack of response by the government.

The statistics for illegals, of course aren’t going to be available. There is a very good reason for that. The government doesn’t want you to know, if you knew, you might rise up and demand change. I want to be very wrong on this, but I don’t believe we have even seen the tip of the iceberg of violence by illegals.

The wake up calls have been numerous and the alarms have been going off for years. American’s hit the snooze button on this issue, roll over and go back to sleep, or else elect politicians that will do it for them.

Duncan Hunter is the only candidate with any credibility, any gravitas on this issue. He is the only one running that has actually done anything. He wrote the bill that was passed as law for 854 miles of double fence. That is a great start and far better than any of the rest have done to solve this, which is little or nothing.

It’s coming, and if America lets this election go by, business as usual, status quo, say, “hola” to 20 million new neighbors with the same rights as you and then some. This isn’t racism or bigotry my friends, this is a plea to stop this invasion of arrogance and ignorance with dangerous ramifications.

When people come to my house, they knock on the door and if I want them as guests, I invite them in. They don’t just barge through the door as if crossing the threshold automatically makes them a member of the Wildcat family.

If I call someone to my house to do some work, when they are done, I expect them to leave. Them working for me, doesn’t make them a part of my family. If I find them in my home, I am not going to care that they were hard workers when they were there before. To become part of the family, once must accept my values, my rules and most of all, knock on the door and wait to be invited in. As it is in my home, so too is it supposed to be in America, and the laws are there to reflect that.

Would any of us allow someone to waltz into our homes and have free reign. Would you say, “well, they are already here, I might as well make them part of the family”? IF one of your children set up a “sanctuary bedroom” and told you there are 4 or 5 non-family members in there but they are now family members because they are in the sanctuary bedroom, what would you do?

I think we all know what we would do, and if it’s right for our homes, then it is right for America, because, afterall, America, is our home.

Holy shi'ite. We non-border staters didn't know this. We are getting quite a few latinos moving into NC where we give drivers licenses to anyone that walks in the DMV. This situation is supposedly going to stop.

Meanwhile you guys don't have the Feds or your states to enforce our laes.

This country is in deep sheep dip.

This is a situation where I would favor the creation of a vigilance committee in these communities to call out the citizen militia and solve the problem.

It’s been done before (http://elane.stanford.edu/wilson/Text/11a.html). Washington will do nothing to protect American citizens.

They did us a favor! They thought they were in the home stretch with very little standing in their way given their support in the WH. They thought they'd just give it that last little push so everyone would realize they were the new "rulers" and we'd be intimidated into recognizing them as such.

They had no idea we'd react as we did and they were just as astonished and dumbfounded at our reaction as we were by their bald faced arrogant threats in a country that is not theirs.

They need the same understanding that the Japanese Admiral had after he bombed Pearl: "I fear we have awakened a sleeping giant and filled him with a terrible resolve."

thank you.

I am going to share this post with several people, some members of my own family, who have bought entirely into the repetitive “hardworking, just want to support their families” mantra.

“Border violence spills into Southwest”

That’s not news to the late Casper Weinberger (Sec. Def).
IIRC, in one of his last books, he predicted there would eventually be
an open war between the USA and Mexico.

The real reason the border problems will not be solved is because illegal drugs have made some people rich.

If a few kids in Dallas die, well that’s just Darwin's law at work. On the basis that attitude alone every public school which either has a student die of drugs or become addicted to drugs should be shut down.
