They have a problem. So they have to keep triangulating between their kook base, which hates Bush and the American people, who support the troops. The Democrats are in a no-win position.

House Whip James Clyburn recently said if the surge were successful, it would be "a real problem for us" That should be the mime for the '08 election campaign.

It reminds me of the scene from Patton when Field Marshall Montgomery was told that Patton had taken Palermo.
Monty exclaimed: "Damn!"

The contention is that the surge was implemented to give an opportunity for the political process to get moving and "obviously" that hasn't happened. Liars! The surge was implemented to improve the security situation, not to have the "political process to get moving"!
Don't let these liars get away with this!!!

The Democrats are in a no-win positionYou'd think so, however the last election says otherwise.

Imagine spinning anything in an effort to make it look like our military forces are losers. Republicans won’t have to spin this: Democrat leadership is despicable.

The Rats are in a quagmire and are trying their hardest to get out of it. The Rats and MSM are pulling out all the stops to now say Iraq is not comparable to Vietnam after years of saying they were even though President Bush never compared the wars, he compared the possible aftermath of Iraq to the aftermath of Vietnam.

“If good news out of Iraq is “...a real problem for us (the Dems)”
Does that mean that they would prefer some bad news out of Iraq?
Would a huge amount of casulties and maybe a couple helicopters being shot down amount to good news for the Democrats???????

Were the stakes not so high, it would be kind of funny. In any event, their bunch up even further, the White House should quote Ted Kennedy on his Vietnam references, state why he was in error and why the president’s aftermath analysis is correct...

Well, the MSM helped them convince the public that Bush “made” them vote for the war in the first place. They think they can get away with anything, cuz they OWN the Media.

Clyburn admitted the problem they have and from what I hear he advised the Blue Dogs that if they didn’t go with the program of dispersing the negative through their MSM friends they would not get committee assignments and it would be harder for them to get money for their districts from the unlimited pork. The meeting they had this morning was about the exact same thing, punishment or follow the program.

You'd think so, however the last election says otherwise. With a lot of thanks to many pubbies = including freepers = who vowed to vote out the pubbies to "teach them a lesson" because of their Johnny-One-Note issue = immigration.
Well, they succeeded. They gave the Reids, Pelosis, et al the reins. Hope they're happy now - They got their wish.
And gave Al Queda their wish in the bargain.
