As was a sizable percentage of the American voting public. Your point?
Oh, okay. Carry on then. LOL.
Vote Hunter! :)
Have ya'll seen who can attend?
Townhall.com Presidential Straw Poll
Who can attend:
Delegates to the Straw Poll - Must have been a Delegate or Alternate Delegate to at least one of the last 4 Republican State Conventions (2000, 2002, 2004 or 2006) or one of the last 2 Republican National Conventions (2000 or 2004). If you have not received a registration packet in the mail and meet these qualifications, please email strawpoll@texasgop.org to request that a new registration packet be mailed to you. Be sure to include your current address and phone number in the email.
Establishment Republicans will get you an establishment winner.
Tommy Thompson, also.
A bit misleading as Huckabee didn't pay for any votes and he got second so either there were many voters who bought their own tickets or they accepted tickets from candidates for which they did not vote.
I was not able to go but I had, I would have paid for my own ticket, like I've done in years past.
Yeah, have a shot for that...
Go and vote Hunter.
blech... thanks for that info...
“Not likely considering the way it’s set up”
Mail and phone calls at the house have only been from the Ron Paul campaign.
Conservative non-establishment delegate
Bring on the fried chicken and corn on the cob!!
That’s it?
Really, do you remember how Iowa voted in 04? How about how they voted at the Straw Poll?
But to your question, President Bush carried Iowa with just under 50% and there was no GOP straw poll vote in Iowa in 2004 that I’m aware of.
Sorry that you think that having a fundraiser and being a factor in the political process should be an establishment group only event isn’t my way of thinking.
Huck was very smart in his strategy--but it still only got him second.
I'm sure you were one of those who would have had integrity and not had your vote purchased for the price of a Straw Poll ticket...
glad to hear it! :)
But his supporters sure can spam potential voters. I've been contacted by a good half dozen of some very interesting people.
The champaign needs to get a better handle on who's working for them as they aren't currently being served very well (to be kind).
Yea, and last time I was a Forbes supporter and he could have darned well afforded my ticket better than I. However, this purchasing of tickets by candidates has become so commonplace, that no one thinks much of it anymore.
But you do know the details of the Iowa straw poll this year, don’t you?
My husband and I are going - we paid our fee/made a donation and booked a hotel room in June, etc. We will not vote for Paul, McCain, Romney, or Guiliani. I couldn’t swear which we will vote for, but it looks like Thompson, Hunter, or Huckabee, depending on what we hear between now and Saturday.
Sorry we won’t see you there.
Mail and phone calls at the house have only been from the Ron Paul campaign.
That merely means they know exactly who to direct their efforts towards. You surely know who the other candidates are anyway without receiving any mail or calls.
And mail and phone calls doesn't mean you're going to vote for him (no I'm not going to ask who you're voting for though I will ask if you're going to attend).
