Former Bush Scribe To Thompson's Staff
Matt Scully, a former speechwriter for President Bush, is back to work--this time for soon to be candidate Fred Thompson.
Thompson spokeswoman Linda Rozett confirmed Thursday that Scully has joined Team Thompson, but wouldn't say what, specifically, he is doing for the non-campaign.
"We are a team effort," she wrote in an e-mail. "A lot of people are helping Fred Thompson test the waters--Ed McFadden, Mary Matalin...and Matt Scully."
Word on the street is that Scully is busy writing Thompson's announcement speech. But as of now, its not clear exactly when the speech will be given.
Thompson has been hinting at an announcement for months. Advisers say it's likely that he will announce in the first week of September, after Labor Day, but before the September 11 anniversary.
If so, we might not have to wait long to see what Scully has put together

LOL - not true. All I’ve ever done is post what Fred has done for your info. based on fact, but you’re never open minded about any of it. (And I use the word “you” as most Fredheads.)
I don’t name call, respond in a vitriolic manner, or gossip about anyone to others, but apparently you do.
Your opinion of Duncan Hunter’s chances are just that - your opinion, not based on fact. You have a right to your opinion, but if I don’t respond to it, that doesn’t mean that I am running away from anything but that I choose to ignore such tactics.
If I am anything, it is not cowardly, or why would I ever dare to come onto such an unfriendly thread when you have clearly declared me the “enemy”?

Enemy in quotation marks? Who are you quoting? I never used the word enemy and you attributed a word to me that I did not use. Is this your concept of "facts", to lie in order to make a point? I called your tactics cowardly. I stand by that statement.

I made clear the You in my post was meant for those who filled the shoes of whom I described. I was not pointing a finger at Artemis Webb unless he/she deserved it.
Perhaps I should have used the word “gnat” rather than “enemy”. I did not attribute the word to AW. In either case Fredheads have always made perfectly clear that I am not welcome on a Fredthread. Though that does not make me happy, I can live with it. I come with good intentions. If Fredheads cannot respond in a civil manner, that is their problem.
