Bush warns of 'holocaust' if Iran gets nukes
AFX ^ | August 28, 2007

US President George W Bush warned today that letting Iran acquire atomic weapons risked putting the Middle East 'under the shadow of a nuclear holocaust.'

'Iran's active pursuit of technology that could lead to nuclear weapons threatens to put a region already known for instability and violence under the shadow of a nuclear holocaust,' he told a veterans group here.

Bush's speech to the American Legion aimed to convince a war-weary US public that the war in Iraq was the central front in the fight against what he described as the Sunni Muslim extremism of the Al-Qaeda terrorist network and the Shiite extremism fuelled by Iran.

'Iran's actions threaten the security of nations everywhere, and the United States is rallying friends and allies to isolate Iran's regime to impose economic sanctions. We will confront this danger before it is too late,' he said.

Tehran denies seeking nuclear weapons and says that its atomic programme means to provide civilian power.

Jewish Americans don’t seem to fear this coming ‘holocaust’’. They still vote Dem. Why should we care about Israel when J-Americans don’t?

W has been ramping up his words on Iran recently. He seems to be determined to stop them finally. If puts his money where his mouth is, we can expect strikes on Iran soon.

Good question

Sarkozy seems to have given his ok for an attack, so at least we won’t have France standing in the way this time. Just wondering what he thinks he’s going to accomplish with these “high-level” talks with Syria.

Genesis 12:1-3

1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Oh, rallying and isolating and sanctions. Right. That counts as "confronting" and "before too late", if all you care about is spin. Bush is doing nothing. Nobody else is, either. Iran is going to get nuclear weapons and we are all going to stand around sucking our thumbs.

Good reminder. Just some folks don’t believe so it falls on deaf ears most the time.

That is very disconcerting although the reason could be that a huge amount of US Jews are secular. You could call them JINOs. ;o) If you remove God from the equation, you'll likely end up with a liberal.

Of course this doesn't explain all the God believing Jewish and Christian democrats. They all seem to think the democrats are the party of JFK...they so firmly believe that republicans are against the common man and in bed with big business, especially big oil. How do you overcome ignorance? You certainly can't argue with it.

“Why should we care about Israel when J-Americans don’t?”

Because GOD cares.

A war with Iran would be terrible.

But letting Iran develop nukes would be worse.

The liberal ones may not, but I do and so does virtually everyone I know among family and friends. It is the liberal ones that don't worry - and I tend to ignore then on a regular basis regarding almost any topic.

I can only think of 6-8 reasons why that was a ridiculous point the other poster made. The big deal is that you so easilly agreed with it. You might want to read the rest of the replies and then reconsider.

The Mayan calendar predicts the end of the world on December 21st, 2012. When will Iran have functioning nukes?
