Conservative Republicans Have Only One Choice In 2008
American Chronicle ^ | August 30, 2007 | Chuck Baldwin (moderator note: Constitution Party VP candidate)

Posted on 08/30/2007 7:51:17 AM PDT by rface

Let's cut to the chase: conservative Republicans have only one choice for President in 2008: Congressman Ron Paul of Texas. Unlike the GOP frontrunners, Paul is the real deal.

No real conservative could support Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, John McCain, Fred Thompson, or Newt Gingrich. When it comes to historic conservative principles, each of these men is as phony as a three dollar bill. That they are now attempting to cast themselves as conservatives is more than laughable: it is downright hilarious.

[ snip ]

If one wants a true photograph of how a congressman or senator votes on conservative, constitutional issues, the best place to look is the Freedom Index in the New American Magazine. Ron Paul almost always ranks as the most conservative congressman from either chamber or either party. His current ranking is 100%, which is a score that few congressmen or senators, except Ron Paul, ever achieve. And Paul does it routinely.

See the Freedom Index here: http://www.jbs.org/files/fi-110-1.pdf

[ snip ]

Ron Paul said these words, "I have never been one who is comfortable talking about my faith in the political arena. In fact, the pandering that typically occurs in the election season I find to be distasteful. But for those who have asked, I freely confess that Jesus Christ is my personal Savior, and that I seek His guidance in all that I do. I know, as you do, that our freedoms come not from man, but from God. My record of public service reflects my reverence for the Natural Rights with which we have been endowed by a loving Creator."

Could conservative Christians ask for a testimony that is any clearer?

Should Ron Paul win the Republican nomination, he would almost certainly win the general election. His constitutional, common-sense ideals would be attractive to such a broad range of voters, I dare say that he would win a landslide victory, no matter who the Democrats nominated. Conservatives, independents, libertarians, union members, and even some liberals (mostly those who oppose the war in Iraq and Bush's Big Brother schemes) would support Ron Paul. The challenge is winning the Republican nomination.

Conservative Republicans have only one choice for President in 2008: Ron Paul.

If I want my wife and daughters forced to wear burkas, all of us forced to give up our freedoms and convert to Islam and forced to kneel and pray to Allah or beheaded, I will vote for Ron Paul. Since I understand the threat to us and the real dangers of retreating and surrendering in Iraq to al Qaeda, I WILL NEVER vote for the blame America first, we deserved 9/11, flag waving, surrender monkey Ron Paul.

Well said.

If you believe that the federal government is, by its nature, mostly incompetent, corrupt and inefficient...and if you believe James Madison's view that the Constitution assigns a small and specific rol to the federal government and leaves everything else to the states and the respective state Constitutions...then I don't see how you support any Republican except either Ron Paul or Tom Tancredo

The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the Federal Government, are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State Governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negociation, and foreign commerce; with which last the power of taxation will for the most part be connected. The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects, which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties and properties of the people; and the internal order, improvement, and prosperity of the State

Don't forget "True Conservatives"* only support Ron Paul, the rest are just posers...

(please note the terms "True Conservative" and "True Conservatives" are a copyright of the Ron Paul campaign. Any use without express permission of the Ron Paul campaign is strictly prohibited)

Last I checked we still have 5 months before the primaries. Hunter is the best candidate on the issues and as a man. Actually, from what I know of Ron Paul, his personal life is exemplary as well. Hunter will not move up if his natural supporters wait for others to start the momentum . . . conservatives have to create it.

"R. Paul beats both of them in poll data"

Spammed poll data by trolls, liberals and every anti-war nut in attempt to show Ron Paul has support in a general election, he does not. Ron Paul will not break 2% nationwide in GOP race for POTUS.

RP can't beat Hillary. Period.

Fred Thompson can, with both hands tied behind his back.

2008 is a looooong way away. Relax. The best (candidate) is yet to come. A lot of things will happen between now and then that will clear up a cloudy political picture. Think war, terrorism, economy, campaign finance excesses, personal revelations...etc.

Just so you know, I’m ashamed that the candidate for President of the United States, Ron Paul, is from Texas.

The author, Chuck Baldwin, is not a Republican, making his motives immediately suspect.

No you are wrong.

The furry of the past two weeks, the excellent results in the hashish straw polls and online, the excitement among the deep base of the DU antiwar crowd and the "real" conservitives has had a major impact.

He has blazed, like a rocket, all the way to 3% in the real polls...

“Fred Thompson will be the Republican nominee.”

Oh I guess it’s all decided now. Thanks. No need for a Primary at all.
