Let's cut to the chase: conservative Republicans have only one choice for President in 2008: Congressman Ron Paul of Texas. Unlike the GOP frontrunners, Paul is the real deal.
No real conservative could support Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, John McCain, Fred Thompson, or Newt Gingrich. When it comes to historic conservative principles, each of these men is as phony as a three dollar bill. That they are now attempting to cast themselves as conservatives is more than laughable: it is downright hilarious.

If one wants a true photograph of how a congressman or senator votes on conservative, constitutional issues, the best place to look is the Freedom Index in the New American Magazine. Ron Paul almost always ranks as the most conservative congressman from either chamber or either party. His current ranking is 100%, which is a score that few congressmen or senators, except Ron Paul, ever achieve. And Paul does it routinely.

Ron Paul said these words, "I have never been one who is comfortable talking about my faith in the political arena. In fact, the pandering that typically occurs in the election season I find to be distasteful. But for those who have asked, I freely confess that Jesus Christ is my personal Savior, and that I seek His guidance in all that I do. I know, as you do, that our freedoms come not from man, but from God. My record of public service reflects my reverence for the Natural Rights with which we have been endowed by a loving Creator."
Could conservative Christians ask for a testimony that is any clearer?
Should Ron Paul win the Republican nomination, he would almost certainly win the general election. His constitutional, common-sense ideals would be attractive to such a broad range of voters, I dare say that he would win a landslide victory, no matter who the Democrats nominated. Conservatives, independents, libertarians, union members, and even some liberals (mostly those who oppose the war in Iraq and Bush's Big Brother schemes) would support Ron Paul. The challenge is winning the Republican nomination.
Conservative Republicans have only one choice for President in 2008: Ron Paul.
Calm down man and come out from under your bed...I hope you are able to hide your terror from your daughters

De nada, baby.
What principles? Continued destruction of the separation of powers between the states and the national government? All in the name of doing what is 'right'? Last time social 'conservatives' wielded their big stick to pass an Amendment for what is 'right' it was overturned by another Amendment.
Work within your state to change the minds of the public on moral issues. But quit mucking about in Washington to pass some national moral policy
Paul’s comments about the U.S. to blame for Islamic facism were way too over the top for me. I couldn’t support him in a primary but would vote for him or anyone else over Hillary.
That leaves us with Thompson, Huckabee, Hunter, and Tancredo. At the end of the day, Thompson will likely be the nominee.
Try the straw polls if you don’t care about the online polls.
He is running a close second to Thompson in first place wins.
Pinging you to read this.
“RP can’t beat Hillary. Period.
Fred Thompson can, with both hands tied behind his back.”
Fred Thompson can’t beat Hillary. You are dreaming.
Keep practicing your spanglish, you will need it if Thompson gets elected.
Well-played, Perdogg. Thanks for my morning laugh.
I can defend me and mine. I will put down many with my 12 gauge and glock 40s. It is all you wimpy Paulnuts, liberals and can’t we just convert to Islam and not cause a problem surrendercrats that would give up the fight and thus too much ground on our soil for those of willing to stand and fight them. Instead of killing and defeating them off on foreign soil, Paul would rather fight them here.
Ron Paul will not be the Republican Nominee.
Ron Paul will not win more than a few delegates at most to the convention, if any at all.
Ron Paul will not top more than 1 or 2 percent of the vote, and I’m being generous.
Ron Paul is not a serious candidate in any way, shape, or form.
Ron Paul, is acceptable domestically, but his foreign policy stances are dangerous to the existence of the United States.
Real Conservatives will look at the realistic choices available and choose a nominee, who can (a) prosecute the war to the final victory, (b) appoint conservative judges, and (c) move the conservative agenda forward on some key domestic issues.
Ron Paul is not that man.
Ron Paul’s campaign theme song is “Shrimp boats are coming”.
Ron Paul 2008!
Ron Paul can’t even get the nomination, much less can he beat Hillary.
This entire thread, from 1 to 50 is worth a bowl of tripe.
Make that 55. Man, these posts are coming fast...
Had to ping a few friends to enjoy. This could be a good one...
Paul is a nut job, and a dangerous one to boot. Its 2007 not 1789 or 1935...
The only poll that matters is the one on Election Day.
Agreed. Unfortunately for Ron’s chances at getting the nomination, being conservative also includes a strong national defense. Ron is a danger to the national defense.
