They will point with pride to all the recipients of their charity(with other peoples money) and proclaim success.

They can try. But both states are still gonna lose House seats.

Liberals don’t think at all, they just react to emotion.

That’s how liberals think, and why my user name is what it is.

The country would be better off if Clark University moved production off-shore.

I have a better plan, the government should give every illegal alien who manages to enter the country ten million dollars and some cookies and milk. That way they could all live the good life without working and the unemployed citizenry could all get a job as a house servant to the newly rich. Makes about as much sense as this guy does.

I never should have said that, I just realized the Silky Pony might steal my idea and make it part of his campaign.

liability lawyers and regulators and legislators .. you left out the regulators and legislators who write the laws and regs that give the lawyers grounds for suits. Pretty cyclical, isn’t it ?

While this guy is a liberal, the fixes proposed by some of the ‘true conservatives’ and ‘fair traders’ in this forum are just as bad. Drop by some of the wal-mart bashing threads to verify.

This guy is a union man who supports all the things unions have done to make this nation uncompetitive in many areas. His fix is for the government to subsidize the unions. If the unions kill jobs by ever increasing pay and benefit demands, then the government should subsidize the union workers who lose their jobs.

Do liberals really think that federal coffers are bottomless money wells?

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I remember this beautiful young classmate of mine named Beverly. We were fifteen or so and we were in Civics class and the teacher said something about how old paper money was destroyed when it was badly worn and new money printed to replace it. This was in the days when there was still some precious metal backing for the currency. Beverly could not understand why they didn’t give that money to poor people who needed it instead of destroying it. The teacher tried every way she could think of to explain it but she just couldn’t get it across so she finally gave up.

The Beverlys are taking over the government, they have already captured the media.

,i>...devise specific plans to make declining communities attractive and thriving again.

Cleveland has been doing this repeatedly for a good thirty years, with predictable results. The problem is that college teachers and "urban planners" haven't the foggiest notion of what makes a city work. (Hint: It starts with having a reason for still being there, when the original reason has evaporated).

Here;s a 3-step program for Mr. Chaison to implement immediately:

1) Start a charity.

2) Name it after yourself.

3) Write a check to fund it.

This is the alternative to using our tax dollars to fund Mr. Chaison's new favorite charity. Or running up the national debt.

Professor of Industrial Relations?

No industry detected in his resume. He is a professor of a subject about which he has zero knowledge. Typical.

If you want to make “declining communities attractive” get the slobs out to clean up the trash they litter from their stoops everyday!

New Orleans took a more dramatic approach, but it doesn't look like they got all of it. Maybe they will have better luck the next time around.

In response to her genuis leadership, unemployment shot up to 7.9% in July - the highest in the country.

Oh surely you lie my FRiend! My progressive-liberal brother assures me that this recession is nation wide. That mean old George Bush is playing with the numbers to make it LOOK like the economy is good! (Do I really need a SARC Tag here?)

Seriously; I told my brother to get the hell out of Michigan. He can operate heavy vehicles and from what I’ve seen/read/heard there’s a pretty good demand. But you can lead a Lib to Truth but you can’t make them think.

A colleague was down in Mississippi for a conference. He visited a friend in Louisiana who tried to hire him for some construction projects. The guy explained that in Louisiana a lot of the people won’t take jobs because their government hand outs would end.

Detroit - Same as New Orleans, except dryer.

I thought you had a nice alternative to her in the last election, but she won.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong. Detroit is the city where, during the 2004 presidential election, George Foreman voted 15 times and Mary Poppins voted 8 times.

When the GOP workers checked out the voter registrations they found vacant lots. That’s when the Dems started screaming “Voter Intimidation.”

Liberals and their ilk are merely looters. When they run out of victims, society collapses into ruin and slaughter.

My own government program to help people who have lost their jobs is for the government to mail each job-loser a list of areas in the country with large employment opportunities. The history of the U.S. has been of people moving here for job opportunities and then moving again when they found a better job opportunity.
