Taleban vows to abduct more foreigners

Taleban militants vowed to abduct more foreigners after ending a six-week hostage drama by releasing the last seven of a group of kidnapped South Koreans under a deal with the Seoul government.

We will do the same thing with the other allies in Afghanistan, because we found this way to be successful,’ Taleban spokesman Qari Yousef Ahmadi told the Associated Press via cell phone from an undisclosed location.

The seven hostages were handed over Thursday to the International Committee of the Red Cross in two separate exchanges close to the central Afghan city of Ghazni, Red Cross officials and an Associated Press reporter said. The freed hostages did not speak to reporters.

The South Korean government and relatives of the hostages _ all of whom belonged to a Presbyterian church close to Seoul _ have insisted they were not engaged in missionary activities, but were doing aid work such as helping in hospitals.

In Washington, the State Department welcomed the hostages’ release. When asked if South Korea’s negotiations with the Taleban set a dangerous precedent, spokesman Tom Casey refrained from directly criticizing the Seoul government.

I’d simply reiterate that the long-standing US policy is ... not to make concessions to terrorists,’

Why are these people still even ABLE to abduct anyone? The Taleban should have been utterly and completely annhilated 6 years ago, when the American people were still angry and would have accepted aggressive tactics.

Because our MSM, among others, has been all over itself publishing their success stories and helping them recruit fresh meat.

Now they can ransom anyone they can.

Yes it’s clear to every liberal the the tallies are ready and ripe for negotiation so let’s send pelosi and reed over to negotiate terms of surrender shortly after we can send the rest of the weenies who call themselves democrat/liberal over for final talks on how to best destroy freedom !

After ten minutes of just looking at pelosi they would most likely surrender !

Notice how they have abducted only one journalist, but many missionaries and non-combatants.

It tells us that they want the journalists to stay.

Why would they want that?

The US should insist that all Koreans immediately leave Afghanistan and Iraq. Given their stupid government’s policy of paying ransom, all Koreans in the area are a security hazard.

"The Taleban should have been utterly and completely annhilated 6 years ago, when the American people were still angry and would have accepted aggressive tactics."

Could it be because Afghanistan is very mountainous with many large caves? Could it be because the Taliban like to hide among civilians? Could it be because the Taliban likes to hide in Pakistan and re-stage from there? The Taliban are not marching in huge nicely lined up numbers across green open fields.

In a perfect world.
We would have simultaneously subdued Iraq, Iran and North Korea
in the fall of 2001.

But...political consideration and the weak spines of many civilized
countries prevent that sort of triumph of sanity.

And it even prevented the USA from simply landing sufficient
US forces on the Afghanistan/Pakistan border in order to
trap the rats in a killzone in eastern Afghanistan.

This is still not a perfect world.
And that "Kick-@$$" impression of Dubya was not the whole truth
about the man as a leader.

How ‘bout we start actually bombing mosques and/or “holy sites”? How ‘bout we stop this PC engagement and start acually kicking their asses with BIG WEAPONS and some good old fashion carpet bombing?
