I guess Rooty Toot is starting to figure out that conservatives won't vote for liberals.

Are there any Rudy supporters left at FR to attempt to refute this article?

"The worry for Giuliani is that Thompson could prove just as appealing to conservatives on tax cuts and terrorism"

Just as appealing? This guy really is dilusional. Once the Thompson train gathers steam, Rudy is going to get tossed onto the third rail.

Gotta love it when NooseMax takes an already published story and rewrites it.

I’m very bullish on Senator Thompson and have ignored the myriad of hit pieces the last few months we’ve all been subjected to ad nauseum. He will eclipse the bulky thighed bolshevik from Chicago and provide a focal point for a much needed conservative shift in the Republican party in my opinion.

I guess Rudy should be worried about Newsmax using Hillary Clinton supporters/donors to bash him.

conservatives won't vote for liberals

There is not one candidate's platform that a voter will agree with 100%. There has to be shades of give and take, with priorities decided upon for the good of all. So be flexible, but not complacent!

The safety of our country is #1. A positive mental outlook is for certain the most important aspect of our survival. Defeatism is a negative term (originating from France politics during WWI) in connotation and often linked to treason and pessimism.

The Howard Deans, the Tom Daschels and the Harry Reids will always come and go, but when push comes to shove, even a Party castoffs like the Joe Liebermans — in Joe's case heavily targeted by the antiwar types — pull a victory.

I know a few Democrats here in PA that they’re in the Fred camp.

Once Thompson hops into the race he will get lots of press.
Maybe Ole Rudy will not be able to make a bigger splash in the pool. The Debates will reveal who says something stupid. Whoever can survive under pressure without sinking;
only the strong survive!

Rudy wouldn’t need to worry about anything at all if his message was one that could rally conservatives.

I wish analysts and journalists would stop pushing this meme that small-government/fiscal conservatism is all about tax cuts. It’s about reducing the size, scope and reach of the federal government — tax cuts are only part of that. Spending cuts are another part — but the overall goal is reduction of government power and intrusion. In that area, Thompson does well and Giuliani fails miserably.

He should be afraid. Thompson’s just entering the campaign and their already neck and neck.

And this is the point when people actually start paying attention, Julie-Annie may have thought that ignoring everyone and walking tall on the rubble of 9/11 would get him to the primaries without much competition, but he is wrong.

Watch Fred’s numbers go up ALOT in most states in the coming months, Rudy’s will go down, and Romney and McCain will stay around the 10% mark nationally.
