Well, he got just about every negative reported so far into his column, whether true or not.

He's just not somebody who has wanted to be president his entire life, so he hasn't advertised every little accomplishment.

I guess this explains why Fred's many FR fans are stumped when it comes to citing any FDT accomplishments, little or otherwise.

Every time I hear such statements as "late getting into the race" and so on, I have to laugh! It's not Fred's fault that the 2008 Presidential race started so early and the other candidates have been in for months now. Time will tell, of course, but I think Fred will do well.

The more one reads about Fred Thompson, the more sense it makes to support him.

Ah yes...why not. Ignore the facts, start another thread, and hope the facts won’t be posted here.

But, those of us who support him have been remiss in getting the word out on exactly what Fred has accomplished, apparently... ;-p

Here’s a couple facts for you to ignore: You are saying “No Thanks” to Thompson, Romney, McCain, and Giuliani. Fair enough.

That leaves you looking at maybe three (non)possibilities that can’t share two percent among them; a hare-brained nutter, and a couple of decent guys with the aggregate charisma of a burnt out matchstick.

No, we repeat it over and over, only to be dismissed with “Well, that’s what senators do. What else has he done?”

His foreign policy expertise is ignored, his struggle to reduce government inefficiency, regulation, and taxes is discounted, his lifelong fight against corruption is belittled.

Apparently he was supposed to singlehandedly fix Washington as one of 100.

If you haven’t gotten what Fred Thompson represents in the gazillion and 72 threads which have been posted here, you’re not going to get it from anything I could say.

And Plutarch has been on almost every one of those threads, thinking by denigrating Fred somehow it will elevate Mitt. It doesn't work that way, it only makes readers think less of a candidate who would have such supporters. Rudy, Mitt and Hunter supporters have, in my opinion, damaged the cause of their candidate by their incessant, transparent, and often childish postings on threads about other candidates.

I know what he hasn’t done, he hasn’t stomped all over The Constitution to please a bunch of New England liberals.

Gee, based on what little I’ve seen of the current candidates of both parties who are running, I’ve seen no accoomplishments there so far.

I am hoping for even more candidates to get into the race so I have a real choice.

     (děn'ĭ-grāt') Pronunciation Key
tr.v.   Denigrate

  1. To attack the character or reputation of; speak ill of; defame.
  2. To disparage; belittle: The critics have denigrated our efforts.

I have pointed out that Fred's accomplishments are not particularly compelling, and have chided him for ducking the September 5th debate. Is that denigration? Check out my posts , and cite where I have attacked Fred's character or otherwise defamed him.

This is all mild stuff compared to the calumny Fred fans heap on Romney.

“I’m kind of a slow-moving, slow-talking kind of guy a lot of times,” Thompson said earlier this year on the Fox News Channel. “I enjoy life. I enjoy a good laugh. The only two elections I’ve ever run, I’ve won.”

I like this guy. He has enough charisma to win in the South for sure and many western states. He’ll appeal to older people who yearn for someone who makes decisions based on common sense and some kind of sense of history and is American for God’s sake. Are Hillary, Kucinich, and John Edwards really American even though they live here?

Exactly. I do not what a list of legislative accomplishmets. In fact, I want a candidate that promises the OPPOSITE!

I want to know (from all the candidates),,,,

what laws they will stop from passing,,,

what laws they will work to REPEAL,,,,

what government agencies they will work to abolish,,,,

what government programs they will work to reduce and/or abolish,,,,

and how many government employees they will work to get rid of!

Don’t worry. People like me who always backs a winner will support Fred Thompson. In fact I will get off my duff and really campaign hard for him in everything I can do. The level of this support will be as much as when Ronald Reagan became President.
