Lily was worried. She was about to saddle up her boyene posse and go looking for you.

This just reeks to Hell with the evidence of massive misconduct by the NCIS trying to railroad these Marines.

As evidenced just this Friday by the NCIS-Doctored ScanEagle tape...

Which begs the question as asked before: Whose side are they on? And why doesn't the Administration show the slightest doubts about the NCIS integrity, and do something about it? Who is running the show?

Our republic best wakeup. In the end Rome essentially did the same thing to the same Roman citizen-landowners. ...responsible for defending Rome. ;^)

I haven't looked that deeply into Roman-decline history. And I wouldn't be at all surprised though if this was true, in view of their overall decadence, corruption and debauchery...and an arrogant presumption it would never end. Are there some cites you can link me to for my own idle curiosity.

Here Paul, Try This .

"Are there some cites you can link me to for my own idle curiosity."

I'm sure while there're probably hundreds, perhaps thousands of sites addressing Rome & its fall, for the money I think you'll enjoy the DVD set much better than reading volumes of history books written on the subject.

In a nutshell what I eluded to is simple, Mr. Ross.
Roman's landowners usually were small farmers in the country, far away from the city.
These Roman landowner-citizen-farmers comprised most, if not all, of the Rome's military.

Towards the end & fall of the republic, while many of the Roman soldiers were in far away lands doing the bidding of the emperor?
Rich, powerful Roman *Senators* made a habit of seizing the *property* of their OWN soldiers for of all things, failure to pay taxes!

The travesty's obvious & perpetrated by Rome's fat-cat Senators: IF one's far away fighting *for* Rome & as a consequence not tending their farm; hence, not making money with which to *pay* taxes?
How *&* why c/would their land be seized?

Many soldiers after the war(s) they'd fought and upon returning to Rome, found themselves homeless.
Wasn't long & there weren't many left to *fight* Rome's war(s), those who left having witnessed how the common soldier had been screwed, really didn't give a damn about Rome.
The rest literally is, history.

At the rate & direction we're going, Rome's history is more than the past.

...it's our future.
