Oprah's Couch For Obama Only
The Washington Post ^ | 9/5/07 | Matthew Mosk

Posted on 09/06/2007 9:09:50 AM PDT by Texas2step

Oprah Winfrey may be getting behind Barack Obama's presidential campaign with vigor this year -- she'll raise $3 million for him when she holds a fundraiser at her California estate on Saturday.

It means she'll be wading into the political world as never before. In 2000, she had Al Gore and George Bush for guest appearances. And California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has dropped by her couch....

..........................................

This year, she says, Obama will be the lone presidential candidate to grace her studio. "If everybody knows I'm for Barack it would be really disingenuous of me to be sitting up there interviewing other people as though... pretending to be objective. So I won't be doing anybody because of that, on my show."

I would not want the appearance on entertainment shows to be considered campaign contributions or equal time. It works both ways. When conservatives have our guys on that would mean that the dems would have an opportunity to appear too. For example, Fred Thompson was on last night’s Tonight Show. Now under your rules, all the Democrats would be able to go on the show too. This is a fun light show not at all equal to a political show.

Michelle’s looks but Oprah’s money!

At the end of the very end of the Al Gore show, as the show was going off, she mouthed to the camera, “Vote for him”.

That's a far cry from a full endorsement that she's giving Obama. Many people (particularly those on the left) blame Oprah's show with President Bush for giving him the "bounce" he needed to beat algore.

Oh sure. I’m not saying it’s an equivalent. It just always annoyed me that one she did it, and two she was still seen as impartial.

Yeah — it’ll be interesting to see if she can push Obama past Hillary. I hope not -— Hillary would be easier to beat.

Michelle is pretty but she always looks angry. At least she hasn’t has 40 plastic surgeries like Oprah.

I remember how Oprah looked in her first movie, “The Color Purple.” Bet she’d like to forget.

Of course Michelle looks angry all the time-she’s a black woman!
Seriously, though, her and Barack seem to have a healthy marriage, certainly much healthier than Bill and the She Devil Clinton!
Some folks think Oprah and her friend,Gayle are lesbian.Thats possible but the more likely scenario is that they are just burned out on men like a lot of women their age and enjoy the company of a female over a male who is always out to”get some”.
Just my theory.

Today Oprah announced that she’s having a big bash at her house for Obama. She plans to raise $3 million for his campaign. Lots of superstars invited.

Hillary must be getting nervous!

I think Obama would be much easier for the GOP to beat in 2008.
Hillary has a frighteningly effective and cash deep organization at her disposal.
And,unlike Obama, who is an unashamed liberal,Hillary is trying to move to the so called”center”,a trick that worked for her husband in 1992.Look for Hillary to”tell off”Jesse Jackson or Sharpton any minute now.
