Why Does Fox News Hate Ron Paul?
AOL News ^ | Sep 7th 2007 | Jeff Hoard

Edited on 09/07/2007 2:33:06 PM PDT by Lead Moderator. [history]

Fox News moderators in the debate accused Paul of taking "Marching orders from Al Qaeda." Arguably the worst moderating I have seen, as Paul ends up having to debate the moderators?!?

During this debate season, Fox News decided to add "cell phone voting" to the post-debate analysis. After the first debate, Ron Paul won the cell phone vote, much to the displeasure of the Fox News pundits (youtube video from that debate here.)

The second Fox News debate was no different. Pundits Hannity and Colmes assure the audience that Ron Paul is winning the poll simply because people are redialing. What is the point of having a poll if people are able to abuse it? Ron Paul supporters, a bit tired of being beaten down by the media, put together this video to debunk the Hannity and Colmes "redialing theory."

I am curious to know if Fox News viewers would like to see each candidate treated fairly, or if they prefer that the newscasters go as far as lying to make some candidates look worse than others.

RP supporters with a YouTube, showing that Sean Vannity's blather about "Ron Paul's dirty hippies are redialing" to account for his text-poll victory is a complete lie. And one we have reason to believe he knew was a lie even when he said it.

What will you say when he barely registers in the returns in New Hampshire? That the voting machines were rigged?

I don’t see that resemblance at all. Jimmy had/has a nice smile and wears cardigans that fit. Dr. Paul wore a suit that was two sizes to big, and I don’t think I’ve seen his smile. Come to think of it, I’m not sure I want to.

Why does a network owned by a Corporate-Globalist One-Worlder hate Ron Paul? Geez, I can’t imagine.

Good Luck with your presidential hopeful.

I just laugh every time I see your name.

I imagine the moment you joined FR and upon long consideration of all the ideas that came into your mind, you decided this one fit best.

WALLACE: Congressman Paul — and I’d like you to take 30 seconds to answer this — you’re basically saying that we should take our marching orders from Al Qaida? If they want us off the Arabian Peninsula, we should leave?

(LAUGHTER)

PAUL: No.

(APPLAUSE)

PAUL: I’m saying we should take our marching orders from our Constitution.....

I bet all the Ron Paul-bots have been clogging up all of FNC's telephone lines/email boxes/fax machines.

I'm guessing his rabid supporters are doing more harm than good, repelling a lot more people than they attract.

The same reason I hate him. He an apologist for al Qaeda. He is a certifiable nut. After he loses the POTUS race, I will work my ass off to have him replaced by a real conservative republican in his house seat. Paul will lose embarrassingly in the race for the white house and his days as a congressman are numbered. You can take that to the bank.

I suspect that will be the time when we start seeing far fewer posts from the Paulites around here.

I didn’t get the impression they hated him because they gave him lots of time in the debate.

That's not an "accusation," it's a question. The author of this piece wrote "Fox News moderators in the debate accused Paul of taking "Marching orders from Al Qaeda."

It's this kind of intellectual dishonesty that makes Paul supporters look like lunatics.

Faux treat a conservative fairly? LOL, not going to happen. It's funny (in a sad sort of way) watching the commentators on Faux run from decidedly conservative positions. Rep. Paul has a following of old school conservatives meshed with some Democrats. Hmmmmm, sounds like another President some time ago....

As for his stance, if another party hack does win I do hope those that desire for the police action to continue remember their stance 5-10 years from now. Although not likely. As much as the bloodthirsty may appear to be in prominence (their 'desire' goes far beyond a warhawk), any candidate that runs on continuing the police action will have no chance of winning next year. Plain and simple. The public is tired of it and as Rep. Paul has said, nothing our leaders said has come to fruition.

I said several months ago, we would start to see the media chosen begin to waffle on the issue of Iraq. Romney has and Thompson will by early next year, although his non-positions on everything else will sink him. Giuliani will go wander off and hopefully be elected President of New York, 9/11, or whatever the hell he thinks he's running for. Just not President of these United States

Of course his answer that he takes his marching orders from the UN instead didn’t help him much.

Oh, so that is why Paul introduces a bill to withdraw the U.S. from the UN every new congress and why he was one of only 87 congressman to vote to withdraw the U.S. from the UN back in, I think it was 2005?

Meanwhile, not a word from Bush supporting the U.S. leaving the UN. Nope. Instead Bush wants the U.S. Senate to pass the Law Of the Sea Treaty (LOST). LOST is another UN powergrab (this time of the oceans) that Reagan opposed.

When it comes to love of the UN, Bush has Paul beat.

Ron Paul is responsible for defeating the media the same as any other candidate. If he cannot do it, then he won’t be elected.

I watch Fox all the time, I haven’t noticed them pushing Rudy.

Then you ain't be watching Hannity & Colmes or listening to Hannity's radio show.

Fox News' commercials for "the best all-around coverage" show the same six losers every time: Giuliani, Romney, McCain, Edwards, Obama and Clinton. Who knew that those were the only six candidates?

And when Peggy Noonan is telling you to pay attention to Rep. Paul's campaign you may want to listen who worked for President Reagan.

When a thousand Republicans are in a room and one man of the eight on the stage takes a sharply minority viewpoint on a dramatic issue and half the room seems to cheer him, something's going on.

Ron Paul's support isn't based on his persona, history or perceived power. What support he has comes because of his views. As he spoke, you could hear other candidates laughing in the background. They should stop giggling, and engage in a serious way.

But heck that's just Peggy Noonan. What could she know compared to anonymous posters on a political board? I bet she couldn't come up with a good koolaid jpeg or even use photoshop....

Well, in the past few days they've taken him from a near nobody to an arch-enemy of the American people.
