Is Ron Paul our only hope for a secure border?

Michael Savage calls it a “third world invasion”. I call it an “immigration travesty”. Whatever phrase you wish to attach to it, our southern borders are as open as Al Gore's wallet in a carbon credit retailer.

Rudy Giuliani proclaimed New York City a sanctuary city as Mayor. McCain sponsored the immigration reform bill (dubbed “Amnesty bill” by immigration activists) that died quickly in Congress and Mitt Romney's position on immigration keeps changing, at least according to John McCain. Fox News took a jab at Romney during the debate several days ago, questioning the fact he had hired illegal immigrants to cut his own lawn.

If immigration is your issue, then Ron Paul appears to be your man. Paul has held the most consistent position on immigration out of any of the candidates running for the White House during his decades of service in Washington D.C.

There is no hope for a secure border. Both Parties will continue the One Worlder crusade, while they keep us at each others’ throats over minor social issues.

If Ron Paul is your “only hope” for anything ... I’d suggest coming up with a Plan B. He’s got about as much chance of winning as Pat Buchanan, Ralph Nader, Lyndon LaRouche or Dennis Kucinich.

If it’s Hillary vs. Ron Paul ... I’ll have to abstain or vote for a third party candidate.

No but he is the only hope for terrorists, truthers and the antiwar crowd from a member of the GOP for the unconditional surrender to Al Qaeda and the conversion to Islam.

Wow. Flawless logic. Let's see...

Ron Paul wants to end welfare for illegals = Ron Paul was the 20th hijacker.

I'll have to keep that in mind...until I hit the "post" and "back" buttons.

Look around there, though that post was a gem.

Also it is a real hoot when these guys act like they are the "Illuminati" of Free Republic, especially in light of this from Jim himself on the first page:

Statement by the founder of Free Republic:

In our continuing fight for freedom, for America and our constitution and against totalitarianism, socialism, tyranny, terrorism, etc., Free Republic stands firmly on the side of right, i.e., the conservative side. Believing that the best defense is a strong offense, we (myself and those whom I'm trying to attract to FR) support the strategy of taking the fight to the enemy as opposed to allowing the enemy the luxury of conducting their attacks on us at home on their terms and on their schedule.

Therefore, we wholeheartedly support the Bush Doctrine of pre-emptive strikes on known terrorist states and organizations that are believed to present a clear threat to our freedom or national security. We support our military, our troops and our Commander-in-Chief and we oppose turning control of our government back over to the liberals and socialists who favor appeasement, weakness, and subserviency. We do not believe in surrendering to the terrorists as France, Germany, Russia and Spain have done and as Kerry, Kennedy, Clinton and the Democrats, et al, are proposing.

Hum, that sound exactly like Ron Paul, doesn't it...

Hunter wants to build a fence.
Ron Paul wants to get rid of the incentives that bring them here.

Example 1:
http://www.house.gov/paul/tst/tst2006/tst100206.htm
“Rethinking Birthright Citizenship
I’ve introduced legislation that would amend the Constitution and end automatic birthright citizenship. The 14th amendment was ratified in 1868, on the heels of the Civil War. The country, especially the western territories, was wide open and ripe for homesteading. There was no welfare state to exploit, and the modern problems associated with immigration could not have been imagined.” (H. J. RES. 46)

Sponsor: Rep Paul, Ron [TX-14] (introduced 6/13/2007)
Co-Sponsors:
Rep Akin, W. Todd [MO-2] - 6/13/2007
Rep Alexander, Rodney [LA-5] - 6/27/2007
Rep Deal, Nathan [GA-9] - 6/13/2007
Rep Goode, Virgil H., Jr. [VA-5] - 6/13/2007
Rep Jones, Walter B., Jr. [NC-3] - 6/15/2007
Rep Miller, Jeff [FL-1] - 6/27/2007
Rep Wamp, Zach [TN-3] - 7/17/2007

I don’t see Hunter or Tancredo as Co-sponsors. I wonder why not?

Example 2:
http://www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul269.html
“Immigration and the Welfare State
Our current welfare system also encourages illegal immigration by discouraging American citizens from taking low-wage jobs. This creates greater demand for illegal foreign labor. Welfare programs and minimum wage laws create an artificial market for labor to do the jobs Americans supposedly won’t do.

Illegal immigrants also place a tremendous strain on social entitlement programs. Under a proposed totalization agreement with Mexico, millions of illegal immigrants will qualify for Social Security and other programs – programs that already threaten financial ruin for America in the coming decades. Adding millions of foreign citizens to the Social Security, Medicare, and disability rolls will only hasten the inevitable day of reckoning. “

Which is more effective? Removing incentives or a fence?
That can be debated, but I think Ron Paul’s ideas deserve discussion.

And this response, before the other, about midway in the dialog.

Jim is a damned poet. I could not have expressed myself to a Paulette any better.

Right up there with McAuliffe's "Nuts" to the Germans it is...

If he is, we are all doomed.

So you have evidence of votes disputing what I stated in my post? ie: Ron Paul wanting to end the welfare state for illegal aliens? Or voting to end birthright citizenship to children of illegal aliens?

If not, why post a reply to me? Care to discuss what I posted?

This is so stupid it raises serious questions about the author’s sanity. The ONLY person who has been consently serious about border security is Duncan Hunter. Paul is been on all sides of the issue on immigration.

Because you arguement is a total straw man. You avoid the point of this thread to make up a spurious arguement then demand everyone agure your irrlevent point. Freepers are to smart to fall for such attempts to diver off issue to avoid admiting your guy Paul is a total fraud.
