To make this stick, one must assume they hid body for 5 weeks while everyone was looking for her, in Portugal, in Summer, in place where body did not smell, then transported her while everyone was watching them.
BS.
Or aliens from Jupiter snatched her - which is more likely than both UK and Portugal crime labs colluding in faking DNA results.
No they did not have the car prior to her abduction. My question is how they know the DNA could not have come other sources, such as her little sister, who started wearing her clothes after she disappeared. Or Kate's clothes, which you would expect to have Madeleine's DNA all over them.
“Mrs. McCann probably accidentally killed Madelaine”
I heard that’s what the police are thinking. Both parents are doctors and most likely sedated their children and left them unattended, which is consistent with their story that they left the children sleeping in the hotel room while they went to dinner. They probably discovered they’d overdosed the little girl when they returned and began contemplating a negligent homicide charge if it came out.
Yes I understand. No need to be condescending. I missed that point in the article.
Still clothing loggage and other belongings placed in the car would very likely still have the girsl DNA on it. They may hvae a case, but there's a whole lot missing from this story still.
And 'boot' is trunk.
Presumably because they did not find the sister's or mother's DNA in the trunk but only Madeleine's - and a susbstantial amount at that.
I’m guessing it’s a rental car the family rented 5 weeks after she disappeared. The police say that they found DNA matching the girl IN the trunk.
The suggestion has apparently been made by the parents that they had put some of the girl’s things in the trunk, which could have left DNA, and the police are now saying that somehow their DNA test could tell the difference between DNA which was transfered from the body to a teddy bear to the trunk, and DNA that was transfered from the body to the trunk.
I have no idea whether it is possible to distinguish between the two, although I would imagine if a body was put in the trunk there would be more dna lying around than if it came from a secondary source.
Okay, please forgive me, but I have a stupid question...
If the theory is that the McCann’s accidentally killed Madeleine by oversedating her, where did the blood come from?
Bodily deterioration? Or does this change the theory of how Madeleine died?
Rental car could have easily been used to transport anything the girl ever touched, wore, shed hair on, etc. This could easilly transfer DNA sample to car.
This is local cops trying to put pressure on parrents.
You may be right. How do you get blood samples from 5 weeks after someone has died. My gut feeling is that the cops are trying to make a case where there isn’t one.
gee, what if they accidentally rented the car originally rented by
the real killer? where’s miss marple when you need her?
WIFE’O BUCKHEAD HERE.
So if they had this slam dunk evidence why were they allowed to leave the country?
I tend to agree with you. I need to hear more details.
“This is insane. Those parents were watched 24/7 after their daughter went missing. How the hell could they hide her body for FIVE weeks, then put it in a rental, and then dump it - unnoticed.
If they found the blood (DNA) three or even five DAYS later that’s one thing, but in car they rented five weeks later, come on. This is baloney.”
and here’s my question; if her body went into the trunk 5 weeks after she was dead - where did the blood come from? I’m thinking after being dead for 5 weeks; you are not going to get much fresh blood...
Well, if it WAS blood as others have said, it would suggest that during those 5 weeks, she was NOT DEAD.
If she had been dead for 5 weeks, there’d be no blood to be left in the car.
I hear they’ve already scheduled a Tee Time with OJ.
Easily?
"The evidence came in blood samples"
I cannot get my head around that either. Imagining a scenario which fits just plain eludes me.
