Back when Bush appointed Ashcroft, I was surprised he didn't appoint Ted instead of making him Solicitor General.
It is unfathomable.
It isn’t often that a married couple with such matched intellectual gifts and integrity go into public service. Both such good, decent people and such great patriots.
Probably just as many that had no idea that Jeb Bush's wife is Mexican. I knew this, so I still support my President. I don't agree with his stand on immigration, but compared to his two election opponents, he still stands very tall. It was an easy vote both times.
I would prefer you would enlighten me on the specific question I posted to you, not to the other Freeper.
I don’t know where Ted stands on immigration issues. On election laws, he’s the best there is, and this happens to be an election year.

Her plaque has a link to a lovely thread of tributes from her fellow freepers posted shortly after that dreadful September day of tragedy and infamy.

lol!
He was Pollard’s appelate attorney for 10 or 12 years, until taking his position with the Bush administration.
AWESOME.
Go Ted go.
My concern is this...
Will he actually fix the BATFE and their illegal activities or will he do the same thing that Gonzales did and help cover it up?
Will he support the US Constitution like Ashcroft or ask for special powers to deny citizens their rights like Gonzales?
Basically, is he going to go after the law abiding gun owners like Gonzales or will he uphold the Constitution and his oath of office?

That’s an interesting and rather right-on evaluation of Gonzalez. And whatever Bush thought he was doing beyond just filling the post in best (non)Liberal tradition with a Diversity Symbol, is irrelevant now. It worked to his disadvantage. THe Republicans never learn. Gonzalez was basically beat up on, relentlessly, NOT for the purported issues that were offered, but BECAUSE HE WOULD NOT DEFEND HIMSELF, and BECAUSE THE PRESIDENT WOULD ONLY DEFEND HIM IN THE WEAKEST WAY. THAT is what you get when you roll over to the Democrat bullies, and frankly , that is what you deserve to get.

If the Republican nominee doesn't perfectly fit your shopping list of what your candidate has to do, are you going to stay at home and not vote, or are you going to go to the poles and vote for the better of the two candidates to make sure things can't get the absolute worst?
Knowing what I know now, voting for a “lesser of two evils” is just as bad as voting for the worst. I’m tired of liars in politics. I’m tired of politicians thinking that they can infringe on our rights whenever they want. I will not waste my vote on the lesser of two evils. If the person isn’t up to my standards, he or she does NOT get my vote, PERIOD.
By voting for the lesser of two evils, you embolden and enable them to harm us more. Is this what we want?

He did say:
Ive known Rudy Giuliani for over 25 years and I trust his principles and his judgment. Since our days working together in the Reagan Administration, Ive been able to see firsthand Rudys strength of character and demonstrated leadership. I am confident Mayor Giuliani is the proven leader our Party and our country need to move forward.
If I may.
In a case in 2000, Bean, was sponsoring a gun show in Laredo, crossed over into mexico to have dinner. There was 200 rounds of ammo on his seat. It's a felony in mexico to possess ammunition.
He served 4 months in a mexican jail and was released due to prisoner exchange. Here's a snip from the article.

Bean took his case to court, and in 2000 a federal judge in the Eastern District of Texas restored his gun rights, a ruling that was upheld on appeal to the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in 2001. But Olson's office appealed further to the U.S. Supreme Court, arguing that lower courts did not have the authority to restore gun rights to convicted felons.
