Fred Thompson must be the luckiest guy in American politics he doesn't yet have a platform available on his web site, skips debates, waits for months before announcing under the assumed role of testing the waters, records videos on his web site and somehow manages to bring in impressive support from the American people.

Those are media sound bite driven dog and pony shows. That's what I've been calling them but I now like what Fred equates them too = a bunch of seals all lined up to catch the next fish thrown at them

Go FRED.
Since when is it a problem to wait until the normal start of the Presidential campaign to declare?

Thompson was won re-election by 20 points. Okay, i meant that Thompson didn't run for re-election for a third term. I thought I was explaining why Thompson still didn't hold the Senate Seat..

Barnes has been a consistent supporter of the President. He thought Harriet Myers should have been given a chance to prove herself, which was not unreasonable given that John Roberts was an excellent first choice.
Barnes also thinks that there's too much vitriol in the immigration debate and it's pushing Hispanics and independents away from the Republican side, which is also not an unreasonable point given the results in 2006. He thought the immigration bill had a lot of things that were very conservative, including the ending of chain migration.
Barnes thinks water-boarding is fine, thinks earmarks should be banned, and is a big pro-life proponent.
"Never a conservative." Pshaw.

What have the debates accomplished other than making the networks millions? Questions put forth by some of the nit wits from the media focus only on negativity's when the debate focuses on the Republicans. SO GIVE ME A BREAK ! STHU everyone of you ANTI - FRED RINOS and stand on the ISSUES!

Crawl Fred, Crawl Fred. After just one week, he had to take a day off. He can’t handle the pace.
Nothing personal, Jim, you know I love you.
My Dad loves Fred, too; unfortunately, my Dad is 83 and Fred and my Dad keep up about the same pace.

Yes I have. In my book, Fred`s a conservative. Those are the facts. After four decades of political engagement, I know what defines a conservative. If Fred wasn't a solid conservative he wouldn't be getting such high grades from like minded rightwing groups. Fred`s lifetime ACU rating is 86. Thats damn good. <<
Let me know when the hypocrite Fredheads stop screaming "RINO" at Senators with far higher ACU ratings than their hero Fred and I'll take them seriously that voting conservative 86% of time makes a Senator "damn good". Lindsey Graham agrees with them over 90% of the time and he gets nothing but scorn and insults on this forum and demands to be throw out of office. Why? Because he voted the wrong on immigration and cozied up to McCain. Of course, SO DID FRED, but his name's not Lindsey Graham, so it's no big deal... (of course if you bring up these darn facts to the Fredheads they'll rant and rave that Fred is solidly against illegal aliens and all the immigration groups that rated him otherwise are "lying")
The more the Fredheads continue their blantant double-standards, the less I listen to their definition of "true conservative"

BTW, I noticed you didn't answer my question. Can't answer facts so you resort to laughing when fellow conservatives lose.
Does having an 86%+ lifetime conservative rating from the ACU make a candidate a "damn good, reliable, true conservative" or NOT?
YES or NO? Try wiping the drool off your mouth long enough to figure that one out.

I think some of the “blind” support for Fred has to do with Fred’s being the pick of the Council on Foreign Relations. In addition, the “blind” haven’t had time or energy to take a good long hard look at their candidate. Their eyes need to be opened.

Wasnt Ronald Reagan the two-term governor of California before he was the GOP nominee for president?Yep, but he was Governor before CA became the liberal mecca it is today. The place has changed quite a bit since the 1970's
