Either you understand it, or you don’t. If you don’t, you are likely too damned stupid, or liberal, likely both, for me to waste my precious time on your education. Blame your momma, she is the one that sent you off to school dressed funny! Blame your daddy, too, he let her do it!
None of my kids, or grandkids, are dysfunctional, they all recieved regular tuneups, and maintainence, from the gitgo!

Is it too soon to say FR is Thompson/Hunter country?

Music to me ears!

Thank goodness there are good many discerning Republicans in the country who are not impressed with TV stars enough to turn the country over to one without checking his record.

Fred’s record and positions on the complex issues of our day does not take long at all to research in depth.

I agree, elizabetty!
That’s probably why Fred is hesitant to debate the other candidates.

“Is it too soon to say FR is Thompson/Hunter country?”

Sigh... I wish Tancredo was doing better, and I suppose he’s far too polarizing to be a VP candidate. I want to cast my primary vote for someone who can stop Giuliani AND Hillary. I hope Thompson’s as good as everyone says he is!

What can I say. I like Fred T. No, I REALLY like Fred T. for president. But...I also like Mitt. I think he did an outstanding job as Gov. of MA; as well as could be expected for a Conservative governing the most liberal state in the nation.

I’d like to see them on the same ticket.

Fred's got an ACU of 86 and Hunter a 92. Fred has a very good conservative record. Regarding the debates, there has not yet been a major debate since he announced. He will be in the next one.

On the lighter side, Fred comes home to a rousing welcome...

Good points. Thompson needs to be tested like all the rest - and he will. And we'll see how he does. He'll have to earn my support.

Some of us hope Hunter will be the #2. Doesn’t mean FRed will choose him. I can see a reason for selecting Mitt as #2. We’ll see. FRed’s got a mind of his own.

FRed Republic... sounds good to this conservative. Its a whole lot better than backing liberals, centrists and moderates, like Giuliani, Romney and McCain.

>>>>>There doesn’t seem to be much room or tolerance for anyone but FT supporters here.

Free Republic is very tolerant of conservatives and conservatism. All other political agendas take a back seat to conservatism on this forum.

Fred Thompson must be the luckiest guy in American politics – he doesn’t yet have a platform available on his web site, skips debates, waits for months before announcing under the assumed role of “testing the waters”, records videos on his web site and somehow manages to bring in impressive support from the American people.

So is this guy for or agin’?

“He will be in the next one”

What do you want to bet that Fred will mysteriously have a “scheduling conflict” when the next debate rolls around and he can’t make it.

Even Fred Barnes has said that he is underwhelming when he is speaking off the cuff.
