Let me guess

The dead rose and started feasting on the living? Any bite from the infected would turn the victim into a zombie in just minutes?

Yup. We’re still puzzling over whether or not the Viking probes found life on Mars, only to eventually find out in 2851 that most of the virii and bacterial life on earth is widely scattered throughout space and rained down here millions of years ago.

Thanks for posting the pic.

The story from Down Under also indicated local rescue crews on site.

Big hole for sure, I would have said a Mk 82, tops.

An Mk 82? That is a 500lb. bomb! What made the hole might have been a chunk of ice from a toilet of an aircraft. Or a shovel or two!

Looks like bomb craters that I have worked around....(wink, wink)

A Mk 84 would not have left that much debris on the rim.

30 M across? Don’t think so, I wonder if they checked for radioactive or toxic residue?

Also, the rim of the crater is nearly symmetrical - tho there appears to be debris thrown out to the “right” of the image. If this were a result of a kinetic event, I would expect to see much more ejecta and a non-symmetrical rim on the crater.

Lots of foot traffic is evident as well.

Maybe they will find something if they get the crater pumped out......

Anyone bother to check them for radiation sickness?

Thanks Kevmo for the ping and suggestion. Maybe radioactive dust is at work here?
