Agreed...and the VP really needs Senate experience to fulfill one of his only Constitutional duties as President of said body and resident tie-breaker. :)

Does anybody else here want to go to this thing? If so, we should coordinate so we can get some all-FReeper tables.

A Thompson/Hunter ticket would create a lot of fear and loathing in liberalville all over the country. Boy that would be a sight to see.

I disagree. I think that it should be HUNTER\Thompson.

Thompson seems to be sinking in the mire of detail. He isn’t even sure about the details of the McCain\Feingold Act, which he supported. He lacks substance. We need someone who is clear on the issues. At this point, Thompson is vague, far too vague.

He cannot be our choice. The disorganization of his campaign scares me. If we learned nothing else from Reagan it was that we must choose someone with vision and the wisdom to entrust that vision to like-minded specialists.

I am a Tennessean, but I do not see Thompson in that role.

FredHead ping!

This sounds like a pretty big event.

If none of the other candidates show up, that is.

Now, now...I somewhat agree with you but let’s look at reality. Fred right now has the name recognition & money, and even though Hunter is more conservative he doesn’t appear to be gaining momentum. It’s quite possible that Fred will pull a James Polk and serve one term and turn the keys over to Hunter, who would still be a 65 year old VP and the immediate front-runner in 2012.

Politics is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.
