Keyes is a good and decent man and has an amazing mind.
That said...he’s percieved (rightfully, IMHO) as a bit “nuts” and just doesn’t have what it takes to win ANY elective office, regardless of how good he’d be at it.

When I first heard Keyes (years ago) I was inspired by his rhetoric. He can give a great speech. But he has never been serious about winning any public office.
He is a professional campaigner...he doesn't do the things necessary to actually win. I believe he has found it to be a good way to make a living, but would be mortified if he were ever a frontrunner. People need to realize this and not waste their time with him.
Hes not a serious candidate. May as well support Pat Paulsen.

One can be truly brilliant and one can be right and one can be an amazing orator but if you can not connect with the average normal voter you are toast.
After losing a race every 4 years since 1988, each more spectacularly than the last, you’d think Mr. Keyes would figure that out and quit running.

I agree. I like Keyes well enough, but if we're going in that direction, I'd rather vote for Newt Gingrich.
For now, I think I'll stick with candidates who actually have what it takes to be elected and to be effective as President.

You’ll eventually figure out that you’ve got him all wrong. You need to quit forming your opinions based on the Democrat Media, and the professional slimers’, propaganda.
Having said that, I doubt I’ll convince you of this today. You’ll just have to wait and see.

One can be truly brilliant and one can be right and one can be an amazing orator but if you can not connect with the average normal voter you are toast. Bingo. The key to being a good politician is the ability to work with others, who don't agree with you, to get things done. Reagan was the master at that.

Doing more research...apparently none of the top-tier candidates will be there. Not sure why.

The key to being a good politician is the ability to work with others, who don't agree with you, to get things done. Certainly, one must know how to get along with people. But, there is a line that should not be crossed. If it is, the only things that "get done" are in the advancement of the liberal agenda, not ours.
RINOs cross that line all the time. True conservative statesmen do not.
Margaret Thatcher:
"If you set out to be liked, you would be prepared to compromise on anything at any time, and you would achieve nothing."
"I seem to smell the stench of appeasement in the air."
"There are still people in my party who believe in consensus politics. I regard them as Quislings, as traitors... I mean it."
"To me, consensus seems to be the process of abandoning all beliefs, principles, values and policies. So it is something in which no one believes and to which no one objects."

I guess we’ll see. No ballots will be cast for months yet.
This will not be decided by the Dem media, the professional spinners and their pollsters, the pundits, or any of the other gatekeepers. It will be decided by the people.

The media-anointed “frontrunners” are being excoriated in the press for not being there, too. Oh well. Their choice.

Well, I can’t help it; I like a guy who would impersonate the king. Great sense of humor.

Well, I actually like Gary myself. He’s a friend of mine.
