Give credit where credit is due. Rudy was out-front on this while our spineless RNC and Legislators sat back and tried to appear “reasonable”.

Thompson's personalized letter asserts that "as long as our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have hope and optimism, we should too" but does not take a position on President Bush's war policy. Rejecting Bush's stand on immigration, Thompson says: "We cannot effectively solve our problem with legal immigration until our borders are secured." The letter quotes Ronald Reagan but does not mention George W. Bush.Good! Just shows he can push his own policies without trying to pander to the BDS crowd.

I’m sure that there’s a good reason that they haven’t closed the poll’s availability to lurkers. I wish they would, though. On the other hand, it’s good evidence of the tactics of idiots and pranksters.

I was wondering about that and thinking if I was Jim Rob, what would I do.
I think I’d leave it there. Taking it down would just embolden the lurkers. And anybody that is interested enough in the poll to look at the details knows there’s no way in Hell that Paul has 16% of the votes.
It’s been interesting to watch the percentages change. Looks to me like FRed has suffered the most. At one time he had 50+ percent of the votes.

Did you know Goldwater nearly lost reelection for his final Senate term in 1980 because he was too socially liberal ? He was nearly beaten by a pro-life Democrat.

"Right now I have no plan to vote for Rudy, but if he is the nominee I will vote for him. I certainly will not sit home and let the left take the White House over "
Everyone I know, both in my family and my friends that are conservative, will never vote for the fake Republican Rudy!
One issue Rudy will destroy the Republican Party and conservative movement within the Republican Party for years to come if he gets the nomination.

I’m sorry, but because of his past liberal positions and decisions and his current pandering (i.e. 2nd Amendment, Abortion, etc) everything he does comes across as political pandering!

It is much more representative than what you are saying.
At least 30 to 50% of the party is true-blue conservative.
To: SoConPubbie
It is much more representative than what you are saying. More representative than what? I didn't propound anything that was supposed to be "representative."

Oh please!
Here is your comment:
"FR is NOT reflective of the Republican electorate. We represent a very narrow sub-section. "
Tell me, what is the difference between reflective and representative in real terms? Effectively it means the same thing.
To: jude24; Revelation 911
FR is NOT reflective of the Republican electorate. We represent a very narrow sub-section.Unfortunate but true.
If you want a closer look at the GOP electorate check out Lucianne. They love Rudy.

So?
How is that more representative of the Republican electorate? The moderators over at Lucianne go along way at controlling the membership.
How about we look at how the social and immigration measures in all of the states fared during the last election cycle (2006)?
History shows that the vast majority of those issues passed, even as we lost majorities in both the House and Senate.
That is the real measure of how conservative the Republican party actually is.
