In the unlikely event that an American soldier by definition my hero purposely shoots Iraqi civilians for no reason, I would want him to rot in jail for the rest of his life, just like anyone else would. If my own cousin robbed a store, I would want him prosecuted to the fullest extent possible, just like anyone else should be.
But if six teenagers from my own race beat another teenager unconscious simply because he was taunting them, I would want them to roam the streets freely for the sole reason that they share my skins concentration of melanin.
At least thats what Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and thousands of others were saying last week as they invaded the town of Jena, Louisiana to free the Jena Six.

For cases like this of the Jenna Thugs, don’t we still have an exhile/emmigration arrangement with Liberia? Marcus Garvey used to favor it.
” A white teenager made fun of a black teenager for getting beat up by another white guy some time before. The black teenager and five of his black friends battered the white teenager unconscious.”
I’ve been wondering just why this particular white kid was singled out. Here’s another explanation, and it has no mention of the “N word”. There are more details that need to be learned about all the incidents being tossed around as justification, the incidents that took place between the nooses and the beating.
But nothing about the other incidents excuses the assaulters, and shouldn’t affect what punishment is justified.
“Every defense Ive seen of the Jena 6 has been based upon a comparison to the way others were treated for different actions.”
Yep, and I’ve seen nothing that gives how other actual cases were handled for similar assaults, the most relevant information of all. The DA might or might not have overcharged, but the law asked such questions as: What was the intent of the assaulters? How long did the assault last? Why did the assault continue after the victim was unconscious? Why did the assaulters stop the beating? Did they stop voluntarily, or did third parties intervene? What about eyewitness accounts?
More questions would be considered, but whether it was second degree attempted murder or something less depends on many factors, and few of the questions are being addressed here or in the media.
If you get to watch the video ... the kid is just walking down the street ... a bunch of black kids approach him and just start pummling, kicking and beating him ... no sound that I was aware of. I don’t know ... with all these UTube videos and idiot kids out there ... it could have been ... planed ... from the mother’s passive reaction to her kid being beat silly ... it could have been.
I think you’ve jumped threads, which would be easy to do today, lol . This one is about the Jena 6 rather than the new incident in Norfolk.
I brought up this incident, knowing exactly what thread I was on, as an example of the lack of regard of interest by our esteemed ACLU, Jessie and Al ... they won't enter the picture until the blacks are charged with a crime ... and the injustice of them being charged becomes their mantra.
Well, a video definitely complicates things for Jesse and Al. It’s be interesting to follow the Norfolk case. Another thing that I keep thinking is that, with the ‘No Snitching” campaign so common in black communities and hip-hop culture, I’m sure we’re getting some “nothing but the truth” stories out of Jena.
Maybe a little investigation is in order. Seems simple ask the perps why they did it.
They are trying to identify the perps from the video ... I have a funny feeling about this. The kid who was attacked should know who these people are ... and it looks like the mother is ... well just standing on the side line waiting to see which way this will go ... I can’t believe she was not outraged about what happened to her son. This whole thing is strange ...
If it’s “white man’s justice” then this white man hasn’t seen any.
What happened is the following: at the end of the lunch break at school, one black student (Mychael Bell) strikes a white student (Justin ...) so hard that he is immediately unconscious.
Then a total of 7 black students surround the white victim, preventing students AND teachers from coming to the help of the unconscious student. Some of the 7 black students are also beating/kicking the uncosncious student.
Many things about this situation has been reviewed by the State of Louisiana and the US Justice Department.
Though it was an all WHITE jury that convicted Mychael Bell, there were 100 summons sent out, including some to blacks. None of the blacks responded to the jury summons. Only 50 people total responded to the jury summons.
The Defense of Mychael Bell was handled by a black Public Defender assigned to Mychael Bell. The black public defender offered no defense for Mychael Bell.
However, it probably was wrong to try Mychael Bell as an adult as he was only 16 at the time.
So the two most glaring things about this case are actually the fault of blacks -- blacks did not answer the jury summons and how the black public defender handled the case.
At this point, on appeal, the fact that Mychael Bell had been tried as an adult, has caused the case to be overturned.
Nope no racism here:
